I run mine through the car wash once a week. It's just a car.

I do hand wax and polish though about every other month or so.

I am usually up in North Western PA for the winter time so I take her through a touchless car wash once a week. Then about once a month I detail her at my fire station. Outside of that she is hand-wash only

I dont have any problem taking it through the wash. In fact, after 8 years of owning rag tops, its a welcome change to be able to sit inside the car and watch it get washed in a matter of seconds, instead of making it into an afternoon ordeal.

To prevent damage like you see in the photo, I strictly hand wash. A Camaro is an enthusiasts car, treat it like one. If you must use a car wash save it for tan mini-vans.

It is not "just a car" to me. I look forward to washing her every Sunday. I put on the ipod and spend a few hours doing it.

I just spent the afternoon washing and detailing.

It is also great excerise. I don't go to the car wash. They reuse the water. You never know what is in that water.

I have hard well water at my house, so I take mine to the wand wash in town. But nothing touches my car but the "rinse" water. I hand wash and dry it there.

Same here with Illinois salt. Have to get that stuff off the car.

We have a wash here that does the interior as well. Well worth it when the weather is bad.

It's tough for me, I have absolutely nowhere I can wash it myself so I have to try and piece together a routine that'll work and not totally break the bank. Right now I just go to one of those crappy laser washes (totally touchless), take it to a parking lot down the street to dry it as fast as I can, then touch it up with detailing spray for a normal weekly wash.

I do the same thing for a polish or wax, just dry it down the street from the laser wash then take it home and do it.

I have only hand washed mine since I've had it but I'm in Florida so nothing really bad has been on her. I'm moving back to my home state next month (Indiana) and *if* she is ever driven in the winter, I will run her through the touchless car wash just to make sure I get all the salt off the underbody but that's the only time.

My husband has an SS and will take it thru the reg car wash; my ragtop I will only take thru a touchless. We both wash ours about once a week and then detail and wax by hand.

We like washing our cars ourselves but the problem is its so FRICKIN HOT here (98 on average) so we only get about 2-3 hours in the evening that is bearable. Those precious hours are for the detailing.

it takes me a little over an hour to wash the car, do the tires/rims, apply the polish, and do the interior. total maybe hour 1/2 but imo its worth it, i dont mind taking time out of my day to make my car look nice. plus ive had some bad experiences with drive thru car washes.. so i only hand wash.

I use the self wash at the car wash, just keep it at a decent range, close up on wheels, and hand dry whole car. No where for me to hand-wash at the apartments i live at :[

It will buff out I am sure. Try to avoid anything that cleans your car but water preeure or a midro fiber cloth.
