Question Tire dressing (shine) that doesn't leave grimey residue (so I can use my car cover)?

I use a car all the time, and was wondering if there is a tire dressing that still allows a little shine and/or conditioning, but won't leave a grimy residue. I don't need it to last long, just something temporary to bring out the black color of the tire for a day (and that allows me to take some pics), yet it will allow me to use my car cover. In the past, things like "black magic" tire shine have left a lot of residue and completely messes up the car cover even after days of letting it "dry".

Any suggestions on a brand that would suit these needs?

Tufshine would be perfect for you, as it is not really a dressing it is more of a clear coat for your tires.

Great! Thank you. I'll check it out right now.

I just want to make sure I have something that fries quick and doesn't wipe off on the car cover.

Bingo! Camarodreams, you came in just in time because that's the exact product I was researching. I'll order both tonight and see how I like them.

In the mean while I wait for these products to ship to me, can I use leather conditioner as a tire dressing? I'm not sure if it is oil based and will leave residue on the car cover though.

Sure you can, I personally don't like the looks it gives them a ash like matt appearance. longevity isn't there either. Since it is temporary then go for it.

Excellent, thanks. They are brown and super dull looking right now and I hate that. Hopefully the leather conditioner will at least make it somewhat black again for the mean time. Thanks again.

Your going to need to give those tires a good scrubbing with something like Adam's All Purpose cleaner to get all that old tire dressing off. More then likely that is what is causing your tires to have that brownish look to them right now.

TCAT I have used many tires dressings over the years, even some that you mentioned, and have NEVER had an issue....for one reason, after the dressing is applied by the instructions, I have a number of old hand towels, I use them to BUFF the EXCESS off of the tires. only takes a minute for each wheel, and there is NO REMAINING MESS to deal with afterwards.
