Black Headliner part - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

HEY EVERYONE IM IN NEED OF HELP. 4 WEEKS AGO SOMEONE RAN INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY 2010 CAMARO SS AND DESTROYED THE PASSENGER DOOR AND FRONT QUARTER PANEL. WHEN THIS HAPPENED IT BLEW OUT THE PASSENGER WINDOW THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND MY HEADLINER WAS RUINED. THE BODY SHOP HAS ALMOST COMPLETED THE RESTO BUT GM IS NOT RELEASING THE BLACK HEADLINER . THEY SAY THEY DONT HAVE THAT PART THE RELEASE. THE CAR IS BEING REPAIRED AT A LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP IN MY AREA WHAT TO DO??

PS MY REPAIR SHOP SAYS THE PART "MAY" BE AVAILABLE IN 6-8 WEEKS
MY REPAIR GUY SAYS OPTIONS LEAVE DAMAGES ONE IN UNTIL AVAILABLE. COVER A GRAY HEADLINER WITH SOME NON CORRECT BLACK. OR PUT IN GRAY AND LEAVE IN PLACE UNTIL BLACK AVAILABLE .

Well first, please turn off caps lock. Whenever I read something in all caps I envision it as if you are yelling it at me. So yea, not fun to read text that is yelling at you. Now onto your question. I would just have them put the gray headliner in until the black one is made available. On that note, you might want to be sure your body shop is aware that in order to remove the headliner the windshield needs to come out.

Sorry about all caps i was yelling . Emotional about my car i guess thank you for the suggestion. Here is my concern about the gray headliner there is no guarantee that the black headliner will be available in 8 weeks. And knowing what i Know about insurance companies, no guarantee that they will pay the body shop to install a second headliner. GM's statements about the part is'nt really adding up. Any suggestions on how to contact the company myself or aftermarket headliners would be appreciated thank you.

Hey this guy might still be selling parts off of an SS. Maybe he's still got the headliner.

Call GM and file a complaint. It takes 6 weeks to build a whole car. This is absolutely unacceptable.
