ss gas vs v6 gas

I just recently came from owning a v6 for 2 yrs, cost average for a full tank between $38- $55 depending on the economy. Now that was using regular, on my ss I filled up last night with 93 octane 11 gallons for $44 thats not much more than the v6 price. Now my ss is the a6. But If people are still concerned with the price of gas to which they should get a 6 or ss IMO its not that different in price maybe $4-5 when u fill up.

Yes, but that's to fill up. And in some places like where I live, it's gonna cost $65 to fill all the way up. The SS is gonna burn a lot quicker, so I highly doubt at the end of the day they are the same because your gonna have to fill up one more than the other over time.

a one year overall gas + insurance cost savings would be a better comparison.

my insurance actually dropped $12 a month upgrading to the ss, I am aware the ss isnt gonna get gas like the 6 but its not a whole lot differnet, now keep in mind I dont let the fuel get to E unless something prevents me from fillling up.

All of the 5th Gen Camaros have a 19 gallon fuel tank, so fill up will be similar no matter what engine you have. Plus if you have a lead foot, your fuel economy is going to be bad. So if you filled up with 93 octane at $4 it would be $76 and if you filled up with 87 octane at $3.70 it would be $70.30. This does not tale you how far you got on that tank of gas. Plus there are to many variables to make this a real comparison on fuel economy. So lets just go to the track and race.

It was $65 to fill mine on Regular 89 octane. Gas is 4.09 for 89 and 4.49 for 93.

I got 23 MPG my last tank and filled up yesterday at 1/4 a tank for $44. That included a run around IMS. Wouldn't want a V6, my SS still gets better MPG than my Nissan Xterra I traded in to get it!

If you look at just one fill up you are right not a big deal but if someone fills up multiple times a week it is noticeable for the whole month.

OP are you unaware that the two cars have the same size tank lol.

i'm always surprised at those claiming 23-25 mpg's in these cars, even the V6. i guess i don't do enough highway driving, i'm usually 18-19. either that or it's because i drive mine like i stole it. god knows how i'd drive the SS.

IMO if you're driving this thing with the purpose of high gas mileage, you're doing it wrong.

Yes I am aware they both have 19 gallon tanks, in my 6 I was getting 20 mpg I drive 26 miles a day on freeway, People are taking this thread way out of proportion, I'm not driving this car to save money just expected A HUGE CHANGE IN THE GAS USAGE in a negative way and I dont see a huge one.
