I got 23 MPG my last tank and filled up yesterday at 1/4 a tank for $44. That included a run around IMS. Wouldn't want a V6, my SS still gets better MPG than my Nissan Xterra I traded in to get it!

If you look at just one fill up you are right not a big deal but if someone fills up multiple times a week it is noticeable for the whole month.

OP are you unaware that the two cars have the same size tank lol.

i'm always surprised at those claiming 23-25 mpg's in these cars, even the V6. i guess i don't do enough highway driving, i'm usually 18-19. either that or it's because i drive mine like i stole it. god knows how i'd drive the SS.

IMO if you're driving this thing with the purpose of high gas mileage, you're doing it wrong.

Yes I am aware they both have 19 gallon tanks, in my 6 I was getting 20 mpg I drive 26 miles a day on freeway, People are taking this thread way out of proportion, I'm not driving this car to save money just expected A HUGE CHANGE IN THE GAS USAGE in a negative way and I dont see a huge one.

Stop light to stop light I'm always first. My work trip is also all highway and 32 miles each way so that helps with my fuel economy. The computer has been stuck at 20.0 mpg for a month and a half now.

My average in my V6 is 23 mpg but on trips with the cruise set at 80 I get 30-31.

yeah, i'd probably get better mileage if it wasn't so fun to drive this car. But right now it is definitely more expensive than my pickup truck, which somehow was rated at 2 MPG lower by the EPA. Maybe I still haven't broken the car in, but with 9k miles, you'd hope so.

I was impressed with both the SS and V6 gas milage but after more thought I guess I need to know what the competition is getting out of their engines. My thinking is that if the competition is equalling or exceeding our milage not really a technical marvel I thought it was just the standard of todays cars. Anyone have those figures?
