I think the change is too small. From 3.4 to 3.7 is not huge. 4.11's should be better.
The OP has an auto, so 3.73's will be a bigger change in his car, but I would still do 4.11's to maximize bang for your buck.
I would expect 2 mpg loss or so, but let's face it, we are not talking hybrids here anyway.
I did 4.56 gears in my '79 z/28, and it was like a whole new car.
Light to light monster with under 300 HP.

I went with the 3.91 gears ...with a built differential from RPM...

I have had both the 3.70 AAM and Richmond 4.11 gear sets. My camaro is supercharged and at 650+ rwhp. I did not feel the 3.70s were a huge difference. I am much happier with the 4.11s. Car feels much lighter and I barely have to tap the gas to pass or merge on the highway, which is what I wanted.
Traction was an issue with both gears. I am not a drag racer. Most of my launches are a rolling start because from a full stop 1st or 2nd are traction limited. I was much more concerned with accelerating from 40-100mph. To be honest, I think unless you switch to a wider, stickier tire, traction will prevent much lower times.
My new wheels with 275 and 315 nitto NT-05s are due next week. So I'll see what happens.
