Ok, now I'm a believer...

...in the foam gun! I always thought it was kind of a fluff step that would be nice, but not really that big of a deal. Well I finally ordered one, and holy cow I never thought it would make such a huge difference. I bought the Gilmour FM2, and put it on the second soapiest setting with 4oz of Adam's wash in the tank. It clung to the car very well. I was nervous about this wash because I just finished the 1100 mile trek from Dallas to Michigan, and bugs and road debris were everywhere. I foamed the car up, then got my two buckets ready while it soaked. I was amazed at how effortlessly the washpad moved across the paint. I felt so much more confident than normal that I wasn't causing any damage, even though the car was much dirtier than normal.

Before I did that though, I washed the engine bay for the first time. I double-bagged plastic grocery bags over my KN filter and put one over the fuse box. Then I just lightly rinsed, sprayed some APC and brushed it with the boar's hair brush. Rinsed it off and let the car idle for about 15-20 minutes. Was a real breeze. The engine bay looks a lot better now that it's dust-free. I treated the plastics with Super VRT and In and Out spray, and my painted engine covers with Americana. Next time I would be less hesitant when spraying, I was super cautious this time and as a result I didn't get everything as clean as I'd have liked to.

I topped off my afternoon with vacuuming out everything, cleaning the cargo mat in the trunk, doing some quick cleaning inside, sealing the windows with Adam's Glass Sealant (best stuff they make by the way), and topping everything off with a nice coat of Americana. I also dressed the upper and lower grilles with In and Out spray, and of course the tires with SVRT.

Once you have one you wonder how you lived without it.

Its fun to watch your neighbors as they drive past and you're spraying bubbles everywhere... one of mine nearly hit a parked car and took out his trash cans as he was gawking while driving LOL

Bought my foam gun a year ago and I'll never wash a car without it.

The only problem now is that my driveway gets sudsy when it rains.

I've got the cleanest driveway in town!

I'm dreading when I head back to "real life" and back into my apartment where I can't use it. I need to win the lottery and buy a house just so I can properly care for my car

For me, the foam gun is more about common sense. Do you drag a wash mitt across a car with dirt matted to the finish or do you come across that finish with the dirt lubricated and soaked away from the finish? Which option will most likely create swirls and scratches? It's such a no brainer that I can't see why anyone who has ever heard of a foam gun and what its purpose is, doesn't have one if they actually care about their car's finish.

Baffling!

Some people think "good enough" is good enough. I am not one of those people.

I'd never heard of it until I read it on here. Ordered one and used it 2 weeks ago. Will never wash without it now.

It's one of those things that my husband (God rest his soul) would have said "do you have to buy everything you read about on that computer?" This one I'm glad I did.

I used mine this afternoon. It works great. Today was hot and there was a lot of sun. I was afraid that the foam would dry before I could wash the entire car. To prevent this, I had my son add shoot a little foam onto the car every now and then as I washed. This worked really well.

I used Adams for the first time yesterday with the Gilgour foam gun. My car looks great compared to the McGuires stuff I was using.

Love Adams

Know what that's like. I have my foam gun for use while I'm at my parent's during the summer. I'm dreading going back to school in the fall and not being able to use the foam gun anymore
