Lightest Cat back exhaust

Planning on getting a cat back exhaust (need to keep my warranty for now) and since the car is set for road course use/autox, Id like any feedback on which cat-back exhaust system is the lightest.

I understand I prolly will not gain much if any HP/TQ but obv. the most gain will be a nice treat as well.

Please let me know any experience you may have. I look to have something ordered early next week.

The only one I know is Borla-ATAK cat back which claims to be 43lbs lighter than stock.

FYI- only a cat back exhaust, no headers or high flow cats unfortunately

Bassani?
ARH?
KOOKS?
Flowmaster?

Thanks!

Yep, what Chase posted. The lightest you are going to get is just straight pipe. No cats, no mufflers, no resonators, Just pipe.

If you buy just the cat back it will bolt up to your factory mid-pipe/cats.

If you buy the headers you'll have the option to buy an off-road (no cats) or a set of HF cats and you'll dump the factory cats. The cat-back would then bolt up to either the off-road pipe of HF cats that you buy.

Also, just as a side note.....have you ever felt the air compressor that's in the trunk. The one that goes where a spare tire would be? When I felt that (knowing I would probably never use it) I pulled it out of the trunk immediately. Just saying....if you're trying to loose some weight.

yeah man, Its out! 5.2 lbs lost along with the child restraint 4.6 and then I have 15.2lbs so far lost in the front. Not much yet and its all I can do for now before the event this Sat.

I need to research stainless works and see what people think... The price is spot on considering I have been looking at Zoomers and Borla for around 1500... Im not sure how the quality compares though and I know Borla claims a 43lb weight reduction.

Stainless Works quality is second to none. Their systems are constructed using 300 series stainless just like Borla. You will be hard pressed to find anything other than rave reviews. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have questions or would like a price.

Yep, I'll be buying this Chambered Exhaust from Chase as soon as I can sell off enough other stuff to be able to afford it. And then someday (after the warranty has expired), hopefully I can get some SW headers to go with it, maybe even the stepped headers if I have enough money to spare!!!

You ever held one of those stainless works bullets? Lmao.
I'd wager a bet that they're easily as heavy as my magnaflow cans. I used them on my old car (and loved them). Going to put some on this car with turn-downs at the axle, but they're certainly not light. It's a 3.5" stainless tube with another full-size 3" stainless tube inside it with stainless packing material. Heavy duty stuff

It is not made of feathers but it is definitely not as heavy as a system with traditional mufflers, especially the boat anchor stock one.

I agree with chase.. Get the retro chambered catback. That's my black SS in the first vid and I'm still very happy with it and smile every time I start the car up. Had lots of compliments on it..nice and deep with a loud growl. There are a total of 4 chambered mufflers 2 after the x-pipe and 2 before the tips and they aren't heavy at all.

There is none with the retro chambered catback! I've had mine for 6 months and zero issues with drone.

Does this Chambered system get the decel popping really bad??? I know my Solo system "gurgles" like hell when letting off the gas (especially if I down-shift). I don't really mind it, kinda sounds cool, just wondering if the SW system does the same?

Like shadow09 said, it is a drone free system.

Decel popping is something that needs to be addresses with a tune. With out that you are going to get it.

Im pretty much sold on the stainless works as long as their weight reduction is similiar to other cat backs (ie not 10 pounds lighter when others are 30-40). Once Stainless gets back to us with the figures Chase, I will be pulling the trigger and getting this system thru you.

In reading other posts about this topic, It looks as if the stock cat back system weighs about 72 pounds...

Zoomers seems to be 38 lbs lighter than stock- which would mean the system weighs roughly 35 pounds (im not sure on this as that would be damn light)

same with Borla- claim is 43 pounds lighter than the stock system, so roughly 30 pounds for the entire borla cat back system. (again, that is light so im not sure if this is accurate or I could be not comparing apples to apples here)
