Need opinions on BRA

Need advice on whether or not to clear bra my 2011 Pacecar and if so, whether or not to cover the vinyl bumper stripes or cut around them.

Right now, it's scheduled to have the 3M product put on this Sat. the 25th, and have the bra cut out around the stripes. My concern is that it will look funny with all the edges visible and the stripes will still be unprotected and susceptible to stone chips. My installer says the product will not stick to the vinyl stripes and must not be covered.

I would greatly appeciate any advice or past experience from anyone.

Thanks!

Ron

Yes. I would clear bra the car, including the vinyl stripes.

If you put them on the stripes it will make the flat look turn glossy. I had the Clearbra put on my car & they cut around the stripes. It turned out great.

Have them cut out around the stripes. Either way looks better than a bazillion rock chips on the front of your car.

If I could do it over again I'd have done a bra. I didn't have the money at the time, but I wish I would've. The paint chips are just atrocious. If you can afford it, do the front, the mirrors and the gill area.

VentureShield over the stripes. 3M has too strong of adhesive to go over vinyl. It would lift the stripes later if you had to remove it. One of many reasons why I don't install 3M. Vinyl will get dinged up though so the stripes should be covered.

I Don't like them. I think it makes cars look trashy. That's just me though.

I think you are talking about vinyl bras. Clear bras are practically invisible and do not show... and sure dont make the car look trashy unless it is in the first place.

3M used to be notorious for yellowing. Not sure now as I do not install 3M. I honestly think you need to look at other films out there... not 3M. Avery Nano Fusion film and VentureShield Ultra are much better films. 3M has a lot of orange peel, has been notorious for yellowing, has too strong of an adhesive to apply over vinyl stripes, and only has a 5 year warranty.
