Me vs Bird Poo

I've never wanted to shoot birds so much than now. I can't wash my car three times a week. What can I do?

Adam's Waterless Wash or Detail Spray.

not parking under trees helps too, idk where you leave it to get bird poo on it 3 times a week. my truck gets it once or twice every month, and it's a bigger target than your car

Apartment complex. Trees on one side, apartments on the other. Can't win.

The most important thing is to make sure you always have a good coat of wax down. This provides some protection against etching that bird poop will do.

Next step is detail spray (or waterless wash). Use it on the STREAM setting to knock off the "chunks". This is good because they often times have seeds and stuff in there that you dont want to wipe across your paint. Once the chunks are blasted off, saturate the area with spray of DS or WW, and use a soft microfiber cloth to wipe away, using a clean section for each wipe.

It's important to get to bird poop quickly. If left on the paint, it will etch into the clear, which leaves you with a pain in the ass to correct.

I know what its like to try to keep a clean car in an apartment complex. Half the time you can't sleep because you know people are parking next to you and probably carelessly swinging their doors open. The other half birds, rain, hail. It's stressful to have a nice car and nowhere good to keep it.

I had the etching already happen. I had to fix it as best as I could. I used turtle wax ice (at Becky from Rodgers Chevrolet's advice) and wiped with as little pressure as possible. Now I know. And no, no swirls. I don't use circle motion. And now, I have the Adams sprays on order. Both mentioned earlier. I just got the turtle wax ice because I am not very certain of my waxing skills. So, after my wash, thats what I applied. Will learn as I go. If I mess up, well, I know its not the paint, but the clear coat that will need fixing. Its not going to stay perfect I know. Its my driving car. Except in winter.

If I may make a suggestion, in my opinion, Turtle Wax Ice isn't worth the plastic it's bottled in. If you are looking for a pretty good wax you can buy in any store, Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0 is the way to go. It goes on and off very easily. Just make sure you always wax in the shade on cool paint.

Keep in mind that using over-the-counter products, you will have to reapply wax more often as they do not last as long as the better waxes out there.

Edit: I just realized you are in Louisville. You are right down the street from one of the best detailers on this forum. AJ, aka "Junkman". He's sponsored, or endorsed, by Adam's and would be more than happy to let you try the products and show you how they work. Send him a PM, he's a super nice guy who loves to spread the detailing gospel.

You can't?!?! Seems like every person on this forum claims to wash almost daily or other day. Makes me feel like a bad owner with my once every 2 weeks wash.

Cuz I get dizzy. Not really. I don't consider what I did to be a real wax, therefore I haven't waxed before ever. I don't trust myself to do it. My back acts up and then id end up rushing.

To whom said they only wash every two weeks... My mom never washed or waxed her Camry, but id dare anyone to look at the miles, look at the finish, and say that car doesn't look good.
