Unfortunately even close would not be good enough for some people, they would want the exact color. You know what they say, you can't please everyone. I do think the higher the option cost the fewer people would buy it. Maybe they could have it split into 2 options, one like this one the a full bumblebee treatment for those that want to pay the price.
I could have bought a TF edition back in 2010 but I felt for what you get the option wasn't worth it, and even moreso with this new one... Anyway every rally yellow Camaro looks enough like the first Bumblebee that most people that like transformers STILL get excited seeing one.

Agreed, I would've liked to see a multiple-option TF package, where you could separate out the wheels, paint, chrome doodads, etc. The full package might be $8000, but hey, it's authentic; if it isn't someone's cup of tea, that's cool too.

I also know that level of optioning costs time and money, too. But damn it would be cool

How is that NOT worth it??? Look at the wheels? The spoiler? The ground effects? the graphics?

Its more than $3k to add all those normally... Thats why I went with the transformers edition on round 1... it was like $700 for the stripes, or $900 for the transformers edition... so only $200 difference for something "special"? I want those wheels, ground effects, spoler, and stripes... thats worth it... but I also want a ZL1... why cant they make a TSE ZL1?

Yeah -- but, the Ground Effects and Wheels ARE NOT in the 3,000.00 price... They're options you can add on top of the 3,000..

Oh really? lol... Then I'll pass on the $3000 price! Its not worth that for a bunch of stickers that I can buy on ebay a lot cheaper.

As I said, for the first version, it was worth $200 more, but not $2200 more!

Yup.. Per the article:

"The 2012 Transformers Special Edition will be offered as a $3,000 package on 2LT and 2SS Camaro Coupes with Rally Yellow paint."

and then:

"Two dealer-installed options are also available: exclusive, 21-inch, black-painted wheels and a black ground-effects package. "

The 2010 TF car I looked at wanted something like 4800 on the sticker for just the 21" wheel + tires.. Yeah, no thanks..

This thread just shows the fully optioned car and the entry price in words.

I failed to read that properly.. I appologize, but thanks for clarifying. I guess I just falsely ASSUMED that with a rpice tag like $3000, you'd get about $3000 in goods for it haha... and mind you, $3000 seemed like a heck of a good deal for the ground effects and 21" wheels...

I think most would agree that if the fully optioned car was only 3,000.00 option.. then, it would be a great deal -- but, it's also listed that you get the full RS option suite along with the base level TF stuff -- so, honestly, I guess it's not too terribly out there in price.. It's just different presentation because that $$ includes the HIDs, Painted Sharkfin and Roof Ditch -- but, with the 2012 supposedly getting some of the existing RS options on all models -- it's not the huge upleveling as a 2010-2011 Non-RS to RS.

Quote:
"On the exterior for 2012, a new rear spoiler will be added as a standard feature for Camaro; and the taillamps that had been a part of the RS appearance package option are also being made standard. Additionally, a new, body-color “sharkfin” antenna joins the RS package."

but you get the RS package, the high wing spoiler, and the 20" black wheels. all you pay extra for on the regular Camaro anyway
2011 prices RS package $1600 + 20" Black wheels EST $450+ high wing spoiler $630
I estimated the price of the black wheels based on the cost of the 20" chrome wheel option on the regular 2LT Camaro.
So a total of the cost of just the options if bought on a 2LT regular Camaro would be $2680, so that means you are getting all the Transformer stuff, stripes, badging and yellow interior trim for a total of $320 dollars, so all that for less than the price of the normal rally stripes.

i think it looks nice, and i am sure it will sell and all the kids will think its cool. I am sure the kids of people that buy this edition will think they have the coolest parents in the world. too much whining on here. Sunrise gold is a beautiful color, i have seen it in person, and like much better than rally yellow, but since that wasn't available, i got the next best color

We probably would have gotten Synergy Green if it had been available when we ordered ours, of all the other colors we liked the Rally Yellow with black stripes the best. That green is really great especially in the sun

Thought it would be a good time to post these for comparison reasons.

Thanks for posting the pics Drum, looking at them together makes the real bumblebee look orange to me and not yellow.

Drum Dog thanks for posting more pics of bumble bee.
Skyman, thanks for the postive comments about synergy green

I know GM makes or has made a more orangish or darker yellow, because i have seen some corvettes and trucks with it, and it is a closer match to sunrise than rally yellow, which is a little pale.

I wish GM would have made the satin finish black stripes like the TF 1 edition (without the transformers lettering) available from the factory for 2011, they look nice, and aren't dull like the matte ones, had they been available from the factory, would have picked those over cyber grey. My 2cents

I'm paying about 20k EUR more for the "full" TF2 transformation ("full because I won't have the concept style indicators, the top of wing located fuel tank and the sleek door handles)

Pics within a few weeks... car should arrive in the German port today. (fingers crossed)

Fbodfather has said it more than once:
GM will not paint the Camaro Sunrise Pearl
GM does not own the name BUMBLEBEE

Can GM come up with a similar color?

So, if White is the base coat for Sunrise Pearl.. Then is there a discount if you order or have a White Camaro???

If I was to build a "Bumblebee Camaro" I would make it resemble either the 1st or 2nd editions as personally, I think they are the best! IMO TF3 Bumblebee looks nothing more than RICE, RICE.. BABY !!

It is not a bad deal on the 2lt if you were to get the stripes + rs package + spoiler and wanted black rims, and you do get the yellow stitching on the inside and the stripes are different from the ones offered and most people dont have them.
