Official V6 MPG confirmed at 29 MPG hwy!

GM VP Troy Clark was just on CNBC and confirmed the V6 Camaro's official EPA highway to be 29 MPG!

Keep in mind, this new rating system is much more stringent than the old rating scale, so it's very possible if driven right the V6 could get over 30 mpg on the highway!

Don't fret guys, GM certified the hp rating at 304 already. Nothing's changed with that and nothing will.

V6 29 MPH EPA Certified!

Troy Clark on CNBC GM North America, showing Red Jewel Camaro in background stated the V-6 has been certified by the EPA at 29MPG!!!:happyani m:
Hopefully, this isn't all of the good news!

That is great. My credit union gives an additional break on interest rates for cars getting 29 or higher, so that equates to money!!!

This will help on the CAFE requirement. Chevy is marketing the Camaro as the sports car for the 21st century based on the V6 mpg numbers. That is where they see the biggest segment of the orders coming from. It gives a good PR image too.

V6 fuel economy -- with 6 sp manual -- 17 City - 29 Hwy
with 6-speed automatic -- 18 city -- 29 Hwy --

6.2 Liter with 6 sp manual trans -- 16 city -- 24 hwy
6.2 Liter with 6 sp auto trans -- 16 City -- 25 Hwy.

Keep in mind that the EPA rating system changed after the 4th gen went out of production -- so these numbers, while official - are 'conservative'...

The V6 Camaro has better Hwy mpg than:

Audi TT e.w
Audi A5
BMW 3 series
Mustang
Challenger
Charger
Nissan 350Z
Hyundai Genesis 3.8
Mazda RX8
Scion TC
Miata
Impreza WRX STi
Eclipse.

The Camaro SS with V8 and Auto Trans STILL has better
Hwy mileage than:

Audi TT 3.2
Audi S5
BMW M3
Mustang V6
Challenger/Charger SRT8
Mazda RX8
Eclipse GT.
