help negotiating... looking at ss rims tonight

Ok so ive been calling dealers for any take off rims they may have from an ss and if they wanted to sell any. This morning a dealership my fam has dealt with for a long time, bought about 15 cars from the same salesmen, calls and says they have just about brand new take offs 20 inch ss rims smoked with pirelli tires i can have. $1200 if i give them my ls wheels. $1000 and keep the wheels i have now.. does that sound fair? and what can i say to lower the price if at all? I got money from my grad party and detailing cars this summer but it kills me to spend money lol any good negotiating tactics anyone has? i would love to get them around $800 i dont want them to feel like they can take advantage of me because of my age.
Thanks

Also, anyone have some good pics of the smoked wheels they can post? preferably on cgm if possible?

Buying new Pirellis for the 20s will cost you well over $1000 with installation. I'd take the deal. You're basically getting the rims for free.

good luck finding them local though, i have been looking for months and have yet to see a set within a few hundred miles drive one way. shipping is what will kill a deal.

Brand new Perellis at Tirerack

$225 per tire (275/40/20)
$205 per tire (245/45/20)

So you looking at around 1k (or a little over 1k) getting these tires on your car (mounted/balanced).

Yes, frequently you can find used tires in the members for sale forum. As mentioned though, shipping is usually the deal breaker. But if you can find someone close buy (local pickup), you can get a real good deal on some slightly used tires.

If you are planning on running snow tires in the winter, I'd suggest keeping the LS rims. Those 20" pirelli's are "Summer Only" and you aren't exactly in the warmest climate. If it's not a daily driver, I guess it really doesn't matter.
