Arizona Man Sentenced for Shooting His Car

Updated: Thursday, 07 Jul 2011, 12:20 PM MST
Published : Thursday, 07 Jul 2011, 9:23 AM MSTKINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) — A Kingman man is going away for 90 days after shooting his Camaro after the car refused to start and then refusing to come out of his home.
The Kingman Daily Miner reports Lauriano Lawrence Lovato went out to his car April 13, and when it wouldn't start, he fired two rounds through the windshield and into the dashboard.
Neighbors called police, and Lovato was eventually arrested after a lengthy standoff.
Lovato pleaded guilty to one count of discharging a gun unlawfully within city limits and was sentenced to three years probation and 90 days jail time.

Wow, too bad he didn't shoot his car in Florida. They let you kill people and spend less than 90 days in jail.

Silly man, everyone knows you're supposed to shoot the jukebox. Especially when it plays a sad song that makes you cry.

Did he threaten it first? Try to scare it into starting? That usually works...

I found it pretty funny... and relevant to a "Camaro" site. And if you don't frequent the site anymore, how did you find it?

Well contrary to Mr. Party pooper.. I thought it was extremly funny, and very relevant. I just drove through Kingman 2 weeks ago on the way back from Vegas to Tucson. With trigger happy people like that around, I'm glad my Camaro had the hammer down, and kept on rolling. 90 days does seem excessive.. but then again.. he didnt just shoot his car.. he shot a Camaro!! Um.. Death Sentence anyone? Who's with me? Get me the Governor on the phone.. lets make this happen ASAP!!

Ironic thing is that Kingman is 3,400 feet up and isn't really all that hot (average summer high is 96). In AZ the shit rolls uphill and not the other way round. Globe....everyone is looking in your direction.

Ah, thanks for the Geography lesson..... I noticed you are from Phoenix, are the sand storms getting you???? Unless you have gotten a garage lately, I believe yours sits outside??? Anyway, I hope your car is not getting pitted by the sand!!!

Yes luckily I had two trucks parked next to me that day. That storm coupled with some attempted vandalism prompted me to rent a storage space. I just did a detail on my car and it came out pretty nicely. Here is the after photo and the photo of my car during the storm.
