Tranny/Torque Converter

Quick question I have a custom comp cam on my 10' ss along with a couple bolt ons and a tune. I'm wondering if I have to get my tranny or torque converter replaced if I will have to get my car retuned.

It's kind of hard to understand your question. Depends on how big your cam is whether or not you will need to change TC. It will definitely have to be tuned.

I meant bc my tranny or torque converter is going out sry for the confusion. It's been bogging down when in 5th and 6th, this happens sometimes. Yesterday it wouldn't shift at all even when I had it in manual. It's A6 btw

It would have been beneficial to get the cam after swapping the trans & torque converter so it could have been matched for those parameters. You will need to tune it once the changes are made.

Well it started to go out after i had the cam for awhile the specs for the cam are 227 243 on a 112 Lsa. I wasn't talking about upgrading the tranny and torque converter just replacing them at the dealership.

I'm getting an FTI 2800 stall for my camm'd A6. Getting a re-tune as well. Pretty much mandatory from what my mechanic states.

what are the temps on your tranny? It could be a tranny clutch issue....

You need to get a good tranny cooler to keep trans temps in check. You also need to get your car tuned to adust shift points, lock up, etc.

On a mild stall (2600 - 2800), you might not need tuning, but it would be recommended.

I have an FTI 3200 and a tune is 100% necessary to get the shift points, etc the way you want them. I also have ADM's tranny cooler. It's a little expensive, but it comes with everything for an easy install.

My trans temps stay around 180 degree (on average) driving around town in hot and humid S.W. Florida.
