confused as hell about 2012 colors and possible ZL1 colors?

Well I was considering since the ZL1 will sport black wheels as standard I was trying to think of what colors would go with the shade of black since black really isnt a color its a shade.
My thought?
Anything bright.
I have had many red cars. have a red vw now Dont want a red car.
Black. Love black. Had too many black cars. Dont want another black car.
White. Love the shade. Might be an option for me but I want something to stand out so white not be it.
IBM. Too dark for me.
CGM. Dont care for it.
RJTC. Looks cool.
Rally Yellow. Cool color but I think id get tired of it in 3 years or less.
IOM. I have had a orange 68 camaro, a orange harley, and now have a orange drum set. I love orange but I think ill pass for my ZL1.
Synergy green. WOW. Looks great in person, is different, and you can see it a mile away. My first new pic.
But wait! Has GM deleted Synergy Green now and Red Jewl Tint Coat?

Deletions

(GAQ) Red Jewel Tintcoat exterior color
(GHS) Synergy Green Metallic exterior color

So with so many deletions and add ons, who knows what the
standard color pallette is for the 2012 year and Zl1?
You know its hard enough to start saving for a car which I am going to start doing anyway, but its even harder for picky bastards like most of us start planning to buy a certain color or start planning theyre ride when we dont even know what colors are even options?

Just going by what was mentioned or quoted by fbodfather saying the ZL1 will have the same color palette.
Thanks for passing this on.
Maybe needs to be a sticky somewhere if its not already. Sux not having any blue at all.

That leaves me with my color picks as
#1 being orange
#2 being silver (never had a silver car) my moms 07 GMC is this color and its beautiful so would be a cool color.
#3 being white.

The above information is consistent with what I've been able to find, which indicates that the following colors are the only colors that are currently available for ordering on 2012 Camaros:

Silver Ice Metallic
Carbon Flash Metallic (45th Anniversary only -- N/A on ZL1)
Summit White
Black
Victory Red
Rally Yellow
Inferno Orange Metallic

Therefore, if nothing changes with regard to color availability between now and when the ZL1 is available, there will be only 6 color choices for the ZL1, which will be a little disappointing, if that turns out to be the case.

I've said it before but if these are the only colors available at launch, I'm not ordering.

I'm hoping this metallic paint issue is resolved by then or they introduce new colors to replace the ones that are affected. If not, I'm holding out.

Where did I read someone that Synergy green would be a available color?
Am I dreaming this or did I read it somewhere?
Also I realize that synergy green was supposed to be a one off, but why the deletion of Red Jewel Tint Coat? Sales?
and NO BLUE at all??? Come on GM!
I was thinking about buying white and stripping the car myself or having it done by someone else but now with all the work that would have to be done to make it look right and the car starting out at 50k I think ill pass on the custom do it yourself paint option.
I will stick with a factory color from here on out for sure. Sorry to beat a dead horse on the colors folks but this has really got me thinkin at a lot of things.
I learned in the pass not to buy a car with a odd ball interior color cause if 15 years down the road passes ( I have a 1985 z28 convertible with copper interior) that you MIGHT not be able to get replacement interior parts in your color such as with my 85 vert as copper (the original color) is not available even in after market. So to me if I do decide to go with Orange on the ZL1 it will have black interior by default which I think is cool. That would keep my from buying IOM as a interior option for sure. I dont want history to repeat itself with the ZL1. If I can keep a third gen in the family for 26 years and counting id want to do the same with this ZL1 when and if I get it. Would never be sold.

I think if possible you may try and see the two type of
rims in person before making a final choice between the
two. It's one thing to see a picture of the rims and
another to see them close up. I was going with the SSX
style rims, and then saw them in person and they just
did not impress me as much after that. Still on the fence
but now leaning towards the polished look.

To each his or her own, but I own a Silver Ice Metallic and love it. The black rally stripes look pretty bad ass, too I also viewed it as a color I wouldn't get tired of over the years.

Is the polished rim the one that is on the red ZL1 show car?
I can only assume so. No telling what it would cost though.
Thats what I don't like about these things. You buy a factory car and the factory wheels could look like ass then you are forced to buy an option $$$.
Oh I forget. Polished rims cost more.

Thanks for posting this.
"We apologize, but 2012 Chevrolet Camaro has no plans to have the Cyber Gray Metallic or the Imperial Blue Metallic exterior colors as options for the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro. "
So now that makes 3 colors gone for 2012 since I made this post.
Anyone else catch that?

If this keeps up with the colors ill just go buy me a 2012 or 2011 Mustang GT
black with grabber blue stripe. I Don't care to buy another rustang but at least I know I can get at least one color I want.

ok, lets see if we can keep up with this. Referring to my OP,
Deletions

(GAQ) Red Jewel Tintcoat exterior color
(GHS) Synergy Green Metallic exterior color

and they just mentioned above no Cyber Gray Metallic
and now confirmation of No IBM.

Heck thats four colors gone now not three.
I need to dig I guess but I swear I had read that Synergy Green Metallic would be available for 2012 but I dont want to start rumors so let me dig.

"Silver, white, black, yellow, orange and Victory red are the only

choices at this point."

I get it already lol!

The first red had the polished rims, and the second one
had the SSX rims. We have probably another 3 or 4
months before we can start ordering the car. Things could
change with a couple of new colors being added because
of the deletion of some of the current colors. Hang in
Thier and give it some time before you buy that
mustang. You may regret the decision latter.

Crystal Red was put on constraint the same day Cyber Gray was for the Corvettes. I think it has the same xirallic component as IBM and CGM. i don't think it's going to be available either.

That sucks. I currently own a CGM and love it. I was planning on getting my ZL1, if the price is right, in CGM. Unless GM pulls a rabbit our of their hat, I may have trouble letting go of my SS and settling for a second choice color on a ZL1. Only 6 colors to choose from? Wow.

I'm not ready to fly off the handle... yet, but IBM was my first choice with CGM my second. I'm very upset if this is true, but I'll wait for further confirmation.

If they don't offer replacement colors I will not be ordering. I've waited long enough and will continue to wait. I'm not compromising with this vehicle.

.

Technically, the color palate includes Carbon Flash Metallic for the 45th anniversary edition Camaros, so one could extrapolate that as at least a possibility for ZL1 as well.

Edit: Would likely be available only with the 45th anniversary package, at additional cost.

If the info in the letter referenced by Dirty D is in fact true, and the above colors are the ONLY regular production shades (not inluding the 45th's Carbon Flash) available for 2012........well, pretty lame in my opinion.

I'm still holding out hope that Carbon Flash will be available on the ZL1 either alone or that it will be possible to get the 45th Anniversary Package on the ZL1

I doubt that 45th Anniversary Package will be available on the ZL1 since the 45th Anniversary Package striping is incompatible with the ZL1's Carbon Fiber hood insert. Also, since Carbon Flash Metallic is listed as only available with the 45th Anniversary Package, I doubt that Chevrolet would make CFM available as a stand alone color on the ZL1.
