Awesome. #1 car down, and I'm up next. I seen Amelia's car was #674 from Fox Chevy in Md. Boy is she gonna be happy. Hopefully I'll make it under 1000.

Yeah - and not one to San Antonio. Although my dealer called and told me they were told by GM that they are allocated 1 last week and 1 for the next 3 weeks and 2 for week 5. They told me I will be in the next batch which they will have onformation on, on April 16. She said that is their next census call with GM.??

Anyone know anything about this stuff? I am number 6, which would tell me I am in the first run, unless one of them they are getting is one of those v-6 dealer cars.

Patiently waiting.

BTW - you guys never cease top amaze me with your resourcefulnees - this is an awesome thread and one damn fine effort to keep us informed on production.

Mmmm what do you think???

BY THE WAY, thanks guys, UCF w00t and heinzd01, for all your help on this forum - it rocks !

I'll answer because I love your screen name.

It will all depend on the TOTAL NUMBER of cars your dealer is getting. If you're #2 of 15 the wait will be "short". If you're #2 of 3, you could be waiting until May/June...

Thanks to Heinz and UCF for all your hard work.

Now I spend spend even more time on this site by checking this thread several times a day.

I see two (#9 and #49) for Oklahoma, but they went to a dealer in a small town in rural, NW Oklahoma. There are some large dealerships in Tulsa and OKC that are not yet on the list. I know my dealer in Tulsa had 20 allowed with at least 12 orders by 10/14. I am sure confused on the formula GM is using for choosing their first allotments to be built.

They won't show up in our lists as the Canadian site requires the correct dealer code along with the VIN to get a result. But, the VINs found represent about 25% of the highest VIN serial found. So if they're building 50/50 v6/v8, that leads another 50% of the v8s for canada. I believe there's a lot less dealers and preorders so that doesn't necessarily make sense to have the same amount as the US so who knows. There's plenty of room for error in these numbers and plenty of possibilities that could be skewing the results. I really wouldn't try to draw to much statistical evidence from this data, particularly about Canada since we can't even see those cars at all.

Is it possible that the vin's you do not have are the one only dealer cars that do not show up on your gm site,

You mean the one-per-dealer LS/LTs? Yes, those as well. We're only getting a small chunk of cars. There's only 3 v6s but I'm certain that they've built much more than that. Once the dealer cars are assigned to dealers, they should start showing up, I would think. We'll never be able to see the Canadian cars, at least without some sort of new finding/information.

What to do?? i've done some searching on this magnificant site thanks to all of the help of you GREAT GUYS AND GIRLS out there who picked apart the vin#'s and how they play out.( it's all like chinese arithmatic to me!!) anyhow, i find out earlier today that my ss was built in the first 100 vehicle's, which i am completely STOKED!!!!, considering i did not expect my car until may or june. my dilemma is that my dealer is starting to now shy away from the g.ms. discount while i have contacted other local dealers who say they will absolutely honor it immediately!! Trust me i know what your thinking, "there just saying that" but i know them and firmly believe they'll honor it. i am being told the car was to be shipped today, assuming from the plant to the dealer. My question to some of you, fight for the discount? or suck it up and take the brand new -sweet car, or tell them i'll order another one from a dealer down the road and save about $3,000. ( oh by the way i think i sometimes see that this dealership is a sponser of some sorts to this great site of ours.

We know the format for the VINs. We know the code for each engine type and model. So basically we just plug each possible vin into http://www.chevrolet.com/ws/nvlWindowSticker.cv?VIN= and see if it works. I've got a program that automates and logs this. It runs each morning at 7am to update the files at http://camaro.spasticsquirrel.com. heinzd01 has written a similar script but he has actually been maintaining a spreadsheet with all of the information by hand. So it's not really available per say outside of GM but through a "brute force" process we can figure them out ourselves.

take the car! if its in the first 100 it might be worth something some day if it survives. plus you probabally wont get your car for 6 months if you switch dealers
