I was kind of wondering if anyone attends the Hot August Nights in Lake Tahoe, Reno etc... I have never been and was thinking of going. If you have any info could you pass it along, where to stay would probably help too.

Wife, and I go every year & stay @ Silver Legacy; park on the roof; watch fireworks from the garage. Met up with a few members last year, and had a good time. It's the biggest hotrod show in the U.S.

Went last year. Stayed in Tahoe on Saturday. Bad decison. We moved over to The Peppermill on Sunday. Way better.

Been going for about 15 years now and consider it my vacation for the year (yeah, I know, pretty sad). I've stayed at just about every place in Reno and finally settled up back at one of the first places I stayed at when I came up for HAN, the Grand Sierra. Gonna be going up on the 11th and coming back on the 14th. If you see a green 68 gto, come up and say hello.

we are staying at Circus Circus, love it there, They may have rooms left, & they are cheaper than anything on the strip.

They close off a whole floor for the show cars.

Cant miss our car, I think we will be going to Tahoe sometime during the week to go check it out.

But we come in on monday the the 8th & leave the 13th to come home.

now I hope you guys know, that you cant just show up & expect to do the cruise or the shows.

The car has to be build in 1972 (as a 1972) or older & has to be American Or European. cant be anything else.
& you have to have your entry in the year before. (normally they ship out next years entry in April, so April 2011 we shipped in our entry for 2012)

but the rest of the events, walking around going to big boy toys, the auto auction & the swapmeet anyone can go & check it out.

Also while you are in the area, you can go to summit racing (either via big boy toys, or one of their many booths) or summit racing themselves & get parts shipped to your house, for tax free & 10% off
