Possible new owner- have a few questions

Hi guys, name is Kris. currently drive a lifted Xterra but have been looking at a Camaro as of late. it is a preowned IOM SS automatic with 7k on the odometer. The question i have is that i expected it to be a beast off the line. However, when test driving it, it seemed a little sluggish. I didnt know if this could possibly be due to the heat or some of the modifications on the car. like mentioned, the car is preowned and has an intake on it along with a bunch of cheesy chrome and flame paint job stuff done under the hood. Just looking for some advice on the topic. Thanks in advance!

it should be a 'beast of the line'. If it's running 85 octane, it may need the "fuse pull" once that tank is run out.

Yeah that would be the first thing I would ask the guy, what grade of fuel are you running? With gas prices being on the high side maybe he was cheaping out on the gas? Should be running premium to run top notch! Really... 85 octane? Our lowest here in MI is 87 at least that I know of? As far as the chrome to me it's a heat sink, my .02 cents and opinion. The guy in the previous thread stated a "fuse pull" and as he stated you would have to run the low grade fuel out if that's what the guy was running? That would be a good start! There was also a thread on map sensors being sub par but I don't know if that was ever proven? Good Luck let us know what happens?

If you drive it again, hold down the traction control button for 7 seconds(it's right in front of the shifter)... until the traction control and stabilitrack lights come on(on the tachometer)... the sluggishness you feel might just be all the nannies trying to keep it from spinning. Turning them off will make it feel like a whole different car. A tune will really help how the transmission makes the car feel.

Thanks for all the quick responses guys. I was thinking cheap gas could do that too. I was supposed to check the car out again today so I will look into holding that traction button down. Ill put some pictures up as soon as I get home from work

My .02, they are asking way to much. The 2012 is right around the corner. If you like it offer 28k or keep on looking. There are plenty out there from those
who bit off more than they could afford.
