Question Hurst shifter (dealer) or Hurst aftermarket?

When I test drove it with the Hurst it was nice but isn't the aftermarket Hurst a shorter throw?

yes, the factory one is 22% reduction (I think, I know it's something close to that), the aftermarket one is 44% reduction

There are better and less expensive options rather than the Hurst.

Your opinion, your post also doesn't do anything to help the OP. Rather than to ignite another "what's the best shifter" thread.

The reduction in throw for a factory Hurst shifter is indeed 22%. The aftermarket is twice the throw reduction, coming in at 44%. There are a few threads on this already.

Is there any word of GM offering the factory Hurst version as a kit priced below the current $800 range?

Get with BeckyD. She and Maureen(actually) has them well below that.
Call Maureen in parts at 734-676-9600.

No, they have no plans to release it as an accessory. I asked fbodfather about it and its just a too labor intensive install, and it would cost quite a bit to have it installed at the dealer. That's why its only a factory option.

Sorry, but this is total misinformation. I just ordered mine about a month or so ago and had it installed. It is AWESOME. Here is my thread about it.
I got the synergy series Hurst which is red stitching.

I am not handing out misinformation, and neither is fbodfather. What a dealer wants to do for you and how this shifter is officially available from GM are two different things. Its still not an official dealer installed accessory, no matter what. Sure you can order it through an OEM parts catalog and have it installed but that's not the same. I could walk down my dealer and order the parts and get a price on install. But they would have to special order the parts, because there is no kit officially offered by GM.

It's a GM part, a GM dealer ordered it, as can anyone from any dealer and they will install it. All this official stuff you are talking about is nonsense.
It is NOT a factory option only. Bottom line is, you CAN order and have it installed at your dealer and you said you could not. That is misinformation, or at the very least misleading information.

Lolz. Anyone can walk down to a dealer and order a part. But there is no kit. That's what he asked, not if you could order the parts. That's what he's already tried to do and its too pricey for him. I never said you couldn't have it installed at your dealer either, I just said it wouldn't be cheap.

Look, you can spin it anyway you want. You said it was a factory option only, which anyone is gonna take as that's the only way you can get it.
That is, like I said, misleading at the very least. Good lord.

Hey now . I was inquiring about GM putting together a "kit" or "accessory" as was mentioned earlier in this thread that would be priced below the current parts counter price for the separate pieces. fbodfather's answer is exactly [the opposite of] what i was looking for. Thanks nak3dsnake. And thanks Backinblack for the info about Rodgers.
