Exclamation Blacking out lights

Hey guys, im trying to black out my headlights, tail lights nd side markers on my 2011 camaro ss, i decided to go with a tint instead of paint.
well i went to the nearest autozone and purchased some 20% tint, but the only problem is that it has a blueish\purpleish tint to them. Now i was wondering is that normal? or did i grab a different shade of tint?

Also it says on the box 20% limo black, the box is purple, they had another box of tint that was is a silver box, im wondering if i should have grabbed that box instead....??? please help!!!!

hey man I wouldnt use that stuff at all on your lights. Hit up bigworm graphics and get the tint kit from them. Thats what I have and absolutely love them. They are black and lok great during the day, but let out plenty of light at night. They looks the same parked next to stock tail lights at night when turned on.

I tried using window tint, and it doesn't work. The surface is round and the tint doesn't conform to it too well, so I used VHT spray. Works so much better.

I love the looked of blacked out/tinted lights, but do that here in Ohio & you're just asking for all sorts of tickets

Just get a kit, I thought about night shade, but its a pain in the ass. You have to take your head lights out, whatever you do is permeant, and its hard to do reverse lights and side markers a less you tear the bumper off or take the risk of doing it while their on the car. Save the hassle and get a kit for all, I'm about to do my Headlights soon

I have GTS blackouts on the front (nothing on the rear) and they are awesome.

Yes, it comes in a spray paint can. Remove the tail light bezels, the light bulbs, and then tails come out.

Clean off with denatured alcohol, spray one coat, wet sand with 1200 grit, let dry, spray again. This is done a total of 3 times. Let it dry in between coats, like 15-20 mins each. Then re-assemble. Total time, it took me 3 hours.

I didn't like the kits, and not to mention, they could come off or someone could steal them. I had headlight covers from GTS, and they got stolen. So I don't have headlight covers, just the tails.

Here is a shot with the tail lights on at night and no brake lights pressed.

I just got those for my headlights, fog lights and tail lights from Phastek Performance They look great, and are easily removable. Can't believe how fast they got to me too!

Window tint is not going to work. It is meant to live on the inside of your glass and not in an exterior lighting application. Get something made for lighting to begin with, like our Headlight Armor kits

I got my taillight tint from http://www.chauffeperformance.com/

I've also purchased sidemarker tint from him too.

The owner is member Black10 here on the forums. Really nice guy with great customer service. He has videos on his site to show you how to install them too.

HeadLightArmor ALL THE WAY AROUND!!!

This was simple to install, can be removed if need be, and still see great at night! I'm very satisfied with their kit.
