2.92 rear axel

What does a 2.92 real axel mean or do? I googled and just came up with better gas milage? Does that mean the ONE LS has worse mileage and handeling than the 2LS?

2.92 is a different gear in the rear differential. All other Camaro models come with a deeper gear (3.45 I believe for the V6). All this means is that the 2LS will have a little bit lower power than other V6 models, but in return you get better MPG. All the models will handle the same.

Hmm so it seems like in the power discussion a 1LT is the better choice.

EDIT I just noticed that the difference between 2LS and LT is 30$.......

The other models come with a 3.27 rear end, which will make the car a bit quicker than the 2.92, but the 2.92 will net you an additional 1 or 2 mpg.

I would definitely NOT get the 2.92 unless you're really worried about a few extra MPGs. If anything, GM should be offering us a higher gear ratio. Ford gives the Mustang guys performance options (yes, even the lowly V6s) but I guess Chevy thinks all the V6 drivers care about is economy.:(

I'm not really worried about the MPGS... I can get those 2 MPGS by driving differently if needed. If they thought we cared about economy they'd put a 4 banger in there...

GM sucks when it comes performance product support. Peoples can talk crap about mustangs all day but look at their performance line up. 3.73 with warranty straight out the showroom. Now thats factory backed support something camaro is missing big time.
