People these days.

I feel some of you may not believe this story but it comes from a very reliable person that I have known for years.

A friend of mine told me about someone he works with that got a camaro and is in love with it. When my friend asked him which model of camaro he got, he said that he got the V6. Well fast forward to the end of the work day he goes out to see the car and notices that there is an SS badge on the guys car. My friend then says that he told him that that car is a actually the V8 model cause of the badges. Here is where it gets funny in my eyes. The guy responds by saying that he just added the badges cause that's the only difference. Well my friend then goes on to explain each subtle difference and the guy then says that he is going take them off.

lol wow. and i thought it was bad i didn't understand all the differences in the beginning. but i would never add something to my car that it is clearly not. and i would expect a guy to know more about cars, atleast i had an excuse

I'm a member of a large Camaro club out in Arizona, so when I see another Camaro I try to talk to the owner if I can. I roll into Target one day in Scottsdale and notice a silver LT with an RS package roll in. Given that I had my SS with me that day I thought it would be a good opening to talk to the guy. So I tell the owner he has a nice Camaro and ask what model it is (albeit I know the answer). The guy looks at me like I'm some kind of price, then I point out my car a couple spots down. The owner then starts scrambling around the car trying find something he can tell me, he finds the RS badge then tells me its an RS model. Not as bad as calling a V6 an SS, but I suppose some people just ain't car people despite what they drive.

I think you will find that people who really know anything about their cars are a minority. To them it is more of a luxury item, than a performance item. Especially the new camaro, it's the "new thing" for owners to have, regardless of the model.

BS, he knew what he was doing. He was just hoping he could get away with it undetected.

Yeah well who cares. theryre only kidding themselfs. Ive got a radical custom 93 Eldo with Biarritz emblems on it and there was no such model. In the 70s guys would debadge their cars as a street racing trick. What kind of trick would I be play if I painted my white SS badges ??
