Pedders EP1167 Diff bushing supplement install sheet

To all Camaro owners,

The rear differential bushings in the Camaro are designed more for comfort and reduction of noise that performance. There is serious movement in these bushings.

Attached is a link for you to see how to replace them. They are pretty easy to do.

Plus there is a special enhancement procedure not validated yet for the VERY serious HP drag Camaros

Here is the link
http://forums.peddersusa.com/showthr...=3919#post3919

this file is too big to post on this forum
Any questions, just ask!

thanks

Good stuff there DMS!

It's the Holden Ute that we won't get in the USA. It was proposed and then canceled as the G8 sport truck or whatever they were going to call it.

the Aussies LOVE Utes, theres a pretty infamous M5 ute on all the bimmer boards. guy hacked a $35,000 2003 M5 in half and fabricated a truck bed to the back...

surprisingly enough though they did a VERY good and thorough job and it looks incredible.

on topic: thanks for teh tip mike! car hasn't even hit teh streets yet and we've got DIYs to improve things lol!

Mike, onnce I get my L99 SS, I'm going to putt around with it for awhile just to feel it, but I do intend to upgrade the suspension! At some point I'm sure I'll be contacting you, because I really want this thing to handle nice and tight!!!

P.S. Do you have any goodies for my old '83 T/A? That's something else I'd like to talk with you about as well.

My first brand new car I ever ordered, was a 72 SS El Camino. It was flame orange, 4 speed, with a cowl hood. It was the funnest car I have had. So when Pontiac announced they wee going to bring over the UTE from Au, I found this Maloo and fell in love with it. the UTE is extremely popular in AU because they do not allow full size trucks there like our Silverado.

Pontiac was going to call it the G8 ST. But then the government popped in, and they dropped it. So my next ride will be the Camaro. I will probably wait a year, but I am patient.

Do all of you know that a V6 Camaro with 20 inch wheels will outhandle a SS Camaro? Also the stopping distances are the same with the V6 versus the SS with Brembos.

Lateral Gs are .93 with the V6 with 20 inchers, and .90 gs with the SS with either auto or manual trans.

Braking from 60-0 with the V6 106 and with the SS auto with Brembos is 107.

Food for thought

Its not the 20s that make the difference, its the Pirellis. Slap some good tires on the 18s and you'll put down the same numbers.

And Baer makes a brake package for the G8 that should fit the V6 Camaro, regardless of wheel choice. 14 inch rotors, not sure the specs on the calipers. The V6 camaro is shaping up to be just the potential track monster that I thought it would be.

So lets be serious about the bushings for a moment. We really have not spent a lot of time on some of the bushings. But AI will spend a little time discussing the differential bushings.

We have a lot of experience with them and the suspension. How? It is the thousands of Zeta platform vehicles that have been done in Australia and here in the states. We have the G8, which is Zeta 1 and the Camaro will be Zeta 2. What are the differences?
1. Camaro will use a different bushing/joint on the lower rear outer control arm bushing
2. Struts and coils are shorter
3. Front strut bushing is light years, and I mean light years better than the G8
4. The front radius rod is larger by a couple of mm
5. Radius rods and ball joints are slightly larger than G8.

That is it. But the Zeta platform is a fantastic platform. You Pedderize it and you go from "wow!" to "holy Sh%^&*"

The differential mount bushings, 3 of them, allow a very serious amount of movement in the diff. What will this do? this will reduce torq, delay torq, and add to wheel hop. All these things have been found on the G8 and the bushing has proven its salt.

You ask why they would build it this way? The answer is noise abatement. GM is near paranoid on reducing noises. Having a soft bushing reduces road noise. Now I really do not think any of the G8 owners have commented on any increases in road noise.

I think with tires and our suspension, you will be in the 1.+ with the gs instead of the .90 gs with the SS, and .93gs with the V6. This blows me away, however.

Any rough estimate of where your sport package (bushings + anti-roll bars) will put the V6?

My plan is to upgrade the tires (Looking at some T/A KDWS's), and get the sport package + rear shocks.

It is too hard to estimate

Do not use the KDWS s. Use the KDW new style. They are far superior

Mike, it seems the car is pushing a bit according to the reviews. Is the Pedders G8 pretty neutral after all the improvements?

Will only a bit more camber up front make it more neutral without other mods? Is the camber adjustable at all on the zetaII?
