Interior:

For as long as I can remember I have wanted a Camaro. I originally wanted a 1969 Camaro to fully restore in every which way I want. Unfortunately, the cost of such restoration would take a lot of time and money, and it's currently impractical. So, that rebuild will be for another time in my life .

In the past, I have owned several vehicles in the past with only 1 being a sports car. I must say, owning a sports car was addicting for me, as I loved every aspect about it. My first car I ever paid for was a sports car, and I didn't do much modification to it other than installing aftermarket mufflers/tips, and window tint. I was a new college student at the time, and the money to mod. wasn't there. It didn't matter to me much because I loved it no matter what I could or couldn't do to it. I sold that car for a newer vehicle for a luxury 4 door car that was smooth as silk and drove great. The next vehicle was a lifted truck, which allowed me to carry anything and everything from school stuff to hobbies (snowboarding, skateboarding, etc.). However, to sum it up, I was bored as all heck with the vehicles I owned after my sports car and I always missed it. NOTHING compared to the ownership of a sports car in my opinion.

So, that brings me back to the present day. I was shopping for vehicles for a long time before I finally came across the PERFECT vehicle for me on the internet. This time, I HAD to be back in a sports car. There were only certain features and a price range I was able to afford comfortably. To be honest, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to afford a Camaro SS just yet, because some came much too loaded for my price range. I was looking at a bunch of different types of sports cars like the 5.0 mustang, 370Z, etc. Luckily things fells through with the other options because as my search continued, I finally came across two 2011 Camaro SS's in California. Both were a 1SS (non RS) with only the options I needed, and within my price range. The only difference between the two were one of them had a factory Hurst shifter installed, and the other had the upgraded sound system. The prices were almost identical, and I was ecstatic! I found both of these cars brand new at different dealers through a price comparison website, and then started looking for any discounts off MSRP. After having a bunch of dealerships compete with eachother on pricing, I finally found a local dealer that I wanted to work a deal with. I went to test drive the vehicle on a Saturday afternoon in May and came home with this!!!:

Naturally, I went with the SS that came with the Hurst shifter , ha-ha.

The first day I brought it home from the dealership!!....and the love for it grew stronger. Ha-ha

This was one of the best days in my life, and I was so excited to bring it home. On the way home, I couldn't believe how many people looked at the car as I went past them. It was a complete head turner.

As I saved money for mods, I wanted to get a lot of them installed at the same time to save me time and money. All the work was done by Hess Motorsports in Anaheim, CA. Thanks again guys if your reading this.

The first mods were performed within owning the car for a month or so, and that was window tint (just a step below limo tint, as I love when you can see just a tad through the window).

The rest of the mods were installed all by Hess. They include:

Pfadt drop springs
RPI color matched bowties (front and back)
Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back
CAI intake,
20"x9"Fr. & 20"x10"R TSW Nurburgring wheels (powdercoated gloss black)
APEX CAGS eliminator

This is how the car turned out after the first string of mods. I was VERY pleased with the results.

So, that brings me to the most recent string of modifications (which were done this past weekend July 15-17) which I am incredibly happy about. The car has completely transformed with the recent addition of:

Carbon hood with custom paintjob (the hood spears were left carbon ) Mike at Hess did an AMAZING job on the paint!
Whiteline sway bars
MPD-1 rear spoiler
RPI black-out side markers,
RPI tail-light black-outs
HUD installed

This car makes me proud every time I look at it and drive it, and it turns heads everywhere I go. I have never owned a car that has done that before, and now I know why all of you LOVE modding your car. There is extreme pride and passion that goes into it.

Since my 2011 didn't come with a HUD system installed, I figured I'd have it installed. I ordered all the parts from a gm supplier. With the help of a fantastic camaro5 member who makes a harness for the HUD system to function, we installed one in my car the same weekend the hood and spoiler, etc were put on. The member that helped me was kind enough to drive across states to install the HUD. Here's some pictures of the dash and interior components spread out in the garage . As you can imagine, I was a little nervous seeing my car in temporary ruins, ha-ha, but I had trust. I'll get some pics of the what the HUD looks like when it's on as well.

Wowzers! Love the hood mods! Looks super!

I choose Summit White for my 2012 Camaro that's on order. I am definitely doing hood spears and some sort of side stripe. I can hardly wait!

Thanks for sharing your pics! I'm totally jealous!

Hahahaha, that would be classic. I come outside and bam, all I see is engine. I'd just think, "Oh no biggie, Jason took the hood again for the weekend. He'll bring it back Sunday night".

The Camino Real Chevrolet event sounds great, and for an amazing cause. I'll have to see if I can make that one. It would be a blast.

Are you gonna put hood pins in it?

VERY Interesting. Everyone has been saying dealer had to take windshield out to get dash out to fix heater core. Looks like you did not have to take your windshield out.

I thought about that as well. I have been asking around and pins are the safe route to go, but it seems to be stable enough as is for daily use. For the amount of street use my car sees as a daily driver, hood pins may be overboard. However, if I was going to take it to the quarter mile track a lot, I'd feel more comfortable putting pins in it. To be honest, what i would really do is convert it to a rear opening hood (I think revolution styling has a mechanism to do it), as I don't like the look of hood pins.

We installed it completely without taking out the windshield. The only thing you would need to take the windshield out for is if it were being replaced with the proper "HUD" windshield so there is no double image. Otherwise, the installation was pretty straight forward when it came to taking out the dash. It was a little nerve racking watching my dash being cut to install the HUD system and bezel, ha-ha. It turned out great though, and I'm glad I was able to have someone with who actually knew what they were doing.

What's even more funny, is no weight loss what-so-ever occurs as a result of switching to a carbon hood, lol. The stock hood is light as ever. However, I went with this hood for two reasons, function (it will be perfect to cool my supercharger or turbo in the future), and looks (it looks like it's going to eat people, ha-ha).

I like CF because I don't have to paint it. Just install and enjoy.

Very true, especially for a black car. Just have the shop slap some coats of clear on there and you're good to go. It would look amazing man.

They have a new one I think it's the TT I like. But Siebon doesn't make one with a window. Pyroboy has a prototype RK Carbon fiber one.
