You're correct, the rainguards to come with the hood, and sometimes they come installed and other times come unattached. I had the underside of my hood painted as well, so I took them off to get that done. Luckily, the rain guards (two panels: one for each side running vertical) are attached via 6 screws on each panel that go right through the guard and into the hood. They are also fiberglass and really light and easy to deal with.

It is possible to construct a covering or channel of some sort to drain out excess water, but I don't think it would be worth it. The reason being heat dissipation. The rain guards are just simply small rectangular horizontal slits in the fiberglass that are a tad offset from the vents that don't allow as much moisture in the vents and try to make the water travel towards the sides (does a decent job, but it's not perfect). If these rain guards were to be altered, covered, or changed in many ways, the heat extraction would simply not be as good. In fact, the only time I really want the rain guards on are when I wash the car . The under hood temps seem much cooler with the guards off, and this hood does one of the best jobs extracting heat that I've ever seen due to the large vents. I only notice water get in the engine bay if I drench each vent (with the rain guard on of course) by hosing down one section of the hood near the vent to long. However, if you wash the hood and spray as normall on the actual hood and not the vents, you should be perfectly fine . As for the cold air induction, it may be best to switch to the C.A.I company due to it being enclosed. Before I went with the turbo, I had a C.A.I cold air intake and it did its jobs beautifully. On the top glass encasement, I usually saw water spots and signs of moisture from washing the car especially around the vent. The C.A.I prevented absolutely anything from getting in. Simply wipe off any excess water from the too and you are good to go!
Thanks!! Yeah I had to have this hood even though I knew it may let a little water in during washing. It looks too good and the fitament is good I hear. Thanks for all the advice I may end of constructing maybe something clear almost like the Cai intake and attach that above my air raid when washing to prevent water from getting on it. Other than that I don't think it will matter because it's a sunny day only car. I will have to see how the vent lines up to where the intake is. Tuning isn't cheap I'd hate to change and then get a retune lol. Maybe after my heads go on I will make the switch.

Hopefully tony starts rocking and rolling with shipping soon I'm even willing to cover the difference just so I can get it. Thanks again look forward to seeing what you do next.

Thanks!! Good luck with it and you'll love all the new mods you're getting. I can't wait to see it . You shouldn't have a hard time fabricating something out of plexiglass or something similar to shield the CAI. If you have any more questions or need pictures of the rain guards, let me know and I'll snap a few for you. In some of the pictures in my build thread, you can see them attached under the hood as well. Have a great holiday weekend!

Something SOOOOOO bitchin' got dropped off last night for the opening of the Transformers 3D ride at Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park. I had to take lots of video and pictures. I won't post video yet, but will work on it. It was an amazing site to see. That's right, it was the real Bumblebee Camaro and Optimus Truck used in the movies. These will be here for likely one week from GM. They were gracious enough to allow us to get them here. They look AMAZING in person ! It was amazing to see and hear them move with eachother from one spot to another. It looked just like a scene from the movie .

Enjoy!

To be honest, it's the best ride they have and that's not even biased. Lol. I had a blast on it and the 3D is phenominal as well as the action in the story line. I have ridden it 4 times now, and every time I see something new. You'll love it I think. It seems like no matter the age, gender, interests, etc, people have been all loving it after they ride it.

You'll definitely want to ride it over and over. The more I rode it, the more I saw of the ride.

Thanks! They were just too cool man to see in person and to watch them drive together. It definitely looked like a scene from the movie. The truck is flat out badass for sure.

Okay, I saw this iPhone case a few days ago on eBay for $9.99 shipped! That is crazy cheap, so I purchased it. It shipped really quick and here it is:

They never used to have white Camaro (Transformers) iPhone cases, and now they do, along with many other colors.

Thanks ABL99! You're the man. I really appreciate the kind words, especially since there are SOOO many incredible looking and performing Camaro's around. I tried hard to make this a unique car to make people smile, and encourage them to buy this incredible american machine. I've loved Camaro's all my life.

Your car is absolutely fantastic! I wish I could see it in person. One day, hopefully we'll be at the same car show to represent great cars and have a blast.

I have the MPD-1 rear spoiler. It is all fiberglass and was of incredibly good quality and a competitive price. Right now, there may be a wait time for it, but it's well worth it. Luckily, we have so many awesome spoiler choices now for this car.

That would definitely be amazing! I am located in southern California. If you are ever out here, or feel like cruising down, don't hesitate to send a PM my way or phone call, and we'll all get together.

I wish! I spent that money on the lighting modification, as well as a retune being done on the 16th, and a new front bumper. Now I need to save up for all brake pads, new brake lines, drilled and slotted rotors, leather interior, and an audio system.

The darn mod list never seems to end because I keep wanting more.

Did you get your in dash kit yet?

Haha, seriously huh . This crap is getting out of hand. I've never been so addicted to a car in my life. Let's hope once those items are done, I'll be content. Otherwise, I'm going to CA (Camaros Anonymous).
