First Performance Upgrades ?

Hey everyone! My name is Sirwestofash, i'm a little new to these forums, but i've been driving my Camaro for one year now.

I have seen countless set ups, color schemes, body kits, and halos for the Camaro.

In short, what I was wondering is... What are the best upgrades to purchase first for performance? (I have a v6 model, and i'm glad/lucky to have it.)

I don't want to twin turbo, supercharge or anything like that. I would need a V8 to get the money's worth out of it. I just want to know some decent not too costly upgrades I could get.

What companies do you use?

Online or Local?

I'm thinking about getting Halo's and maybe some LED lighting or a sub put in. Anyone have some personal stories to share?

************.com is the best ive found, free shipping and great response.
and i wouldnt do too much to a v6, youll never get any money back out of it when you sell, not that you will with a v8 but there are better chances. stick to exhaust only unless you want to turbo. dont do the in between parts, just a waste.

I would say an exhaust and cold air intake should probably be the first performance mods

Yeah I was thinking along the lines of a cool air intake, it would give me another 20-40hp right? I was looking into exhaust as well, but i didn't know if it would be good to buy the one from the GMaccessories site, or another place. My resell value is already gonna be hurt, i wrecked the car twice, insurance repaired and replaced a lot of things. I just want to customize and make it my own, and i want it to sound decent and perform a little better if possible.

Not even close to 20 or 40 try around 10 if your lucky. also the gm CAI are not available and they would be way overpriced.

CAI is a pretty good bang for you buck. Exhaust won't add power, but will make it sound better. The new ported Trottle Body will make if feel more responsive. After that you're probably talking about headers. Shorties won't add much power but they don't require a tune. Long tubes add quite a bit of power but require a tune. The tune will add quite a bit of power on the stock engine and help you get the most out of your mods. You can do an E85 tune if you have access to that fuel and get a big bang for your buck.

Then there are all the suspension parts. Don't forget to consider some of them.

Lot's of good vendors on this site. I mostly use RX Performance, Mike Morris, Trifecta (tune only), and Apex. I've heard good things about lots of others, so just visit the vendor section and then PM a few that have parts you might be interested in.

Also, don't forget to look at the stickies in the V6 section. Lots of pics and videos to help you choose.

Dude I do owe you haha, I want my car to be Bad A$$ too. I'm working 35 hours a week while in college taking 16 credits. My parents are freaking amazing for helping me get this car. Now its time I spend my hard earned money, on the one thing I love second to them.

WORSHIP ME j/k j/k can't wait to see your camaro scream with a CAI and axle back mufflers your car will be so freaken sweet sounding TRUST ME it makes a world of differnce plus a 20 to 30+ HP boost don't hurt non too and they are both you can do on your own. Me i would get my mufflers installed by a pro but the CAI is EASE as pie

Thank you! Should I get some friends to install these or look for a company in my area? To be completely honest, i'm a novice to cars, all I know is from what I look up and read about. I really don't want to install something a make a mistake when my car cost me 20+ grand you know.
