Green Valve stem cap=Nitrogen filled?

Just wondering, I have been reading that if you have green valve stem caps it means your tires are filled with nitrogen, my Camaro came from the dealer with green caps but nobody mentioned to me if they were filled with nitrogen...does anyone know if this is common for the Camaros....and how do I even know if the caps are just green or nitrogen filled?

Normall, green caps mean nitrogen filled. I belive it is pretty common. You could contact you dealer and ask whther the tires are nitrogen filled.

To my knowledge they are NOT using nitrogen at the factory, not sure why a dealer would go to this expense, takes a few minutes to evacuate the current air and then buy and put in the nitrogen....I am a BIG BELIEVER in Nitrogen ( in the airline business) YES, green caps are for nitrogen, and some even have the "N" stamped on the top of the cap as well...good luck.

Yes green caps are nitrogen. Most new cars come from the factory with nitrogen fill as there is a profit in it and usually an extra charge. I do not think they come from the factory this way and is a dealer add on. However because nitrogen doesn't change pressure due to temps to the degree air does it keeps the TPMS light for going of due to temp changes. So it nice in newer cars with Tire Pressure Monitoring.

Regulations are normally pretty strict up compressed air. Green covers are not only supposed to say what they should take, but what is in the tires. I know mine came from the dealer with Nitrogen filled tires, and even has a sticker on the front windshield saying it uses nitrogen filled tires. I don't think this is a dealer thing since the Pirelli P Zero's are supposed to be Nitrogen filled

If it has Nitrogen... it was done at the dealership, not the factory.

I got mine right off the truck. No green cap, and air is not steady, which means no nitrogen.

It's a profit item for the dealership to "install" the nitrogen. They tried to add $50 on top my bill for it at delivery (I was already at sticker!) but I said "no way". They said they will take the nitrogen out, fill it up with air and not charge me the $50. Think about it!!!!
