Newb Camaro SS owner!

Hi all, been skimming the forums since I picked the car up friday evening. A LOT of great info and write ups, just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I will wash is up this evening and get some pics up, nothing special, just a 2010 red L99.

Plans for the car are basic, keep it quiet, maybe some induction and I have efilive and will be tuning it of course. I have already had a run in on the freeway with a c6 vette that was a stick car (convertible and aftermarket wheels) and surpisingly, he jumped before me and he didn't get anymore than that (went from about 55 to 110 or so).

Anyways, thanks for the great site and awesome gen 5 community!

Ryan

Thanks all, I truely love the car and couldn't be happier. I have been involved in tuning and such with the ls community for several years and have owned an ls based truck too, but this car is so fun. The mix of power and economy can't be beat!

Ryan, CONGRATS and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Don't tell the world that! I had a mustang GT owner talk to me last night. He said that my Camaro SS looked awesome and he was wondering what mods I had added to make it look so cool!

I really love the curves and lines of the car. Performance is great and I love the quiet cabin yet its got a nice tone outside the vehicle.

*edit* you got P-Zeros on them rims? and the white SS means non RS package i just never seen 20 RS style rims on a non RS camaro not hateing just got me wondering

I messed with the saturation of the photo to make the red brighter. I am new to this stuff and don't know what options were for what pkgs. I don't even know what the difference in the white ss emblem vs anything else...lol. I do know they are the p-zeros, it has the rs spoiler I believe and other than that I don't know whats different.

the RS package for the 10 11 camaro came with HID Projection Headlights with halo rings dark midnight silver 20 inch rims with P-Zero tires and a rear wing

on the v6 model it has RS badges red where your white SS badges are

on the SS models the SS is red not white to show it has the RS Package

its weird the wing and rims normaly dont come with non RS camaros unless your dealer did a swap

OH the tail lights are a darker shade of red then the non RS camaro counter parts

also the trim above the door is painted

on the 2012 camaro almost all them come stock on the non RS model witch i i think is stuiped (minus the rims) cause it ruins the point of the RS package

what pay 1500 for a painted fin (the xm/onstar shark fin on your roof) and 20 inch rims and headlights really? stuiped lol it takes away half of the point of it all to be differnt and have a nice looking car

side note i just noticed the trim peice above your door is NOT paint that with the lack of HID projection headlights and the white SS badge no your car is not an RS camaro

weird to see RS rims and wing on it though

*side note* so your car is special cause it has some RS package pieces that you can only get with the RS package

The headlights and wheels are 90% of the cost of the package. Making the taillight lenses and spoiler all the same saves some manufacturing costs.

...and it's spelled "stupid".

His car is special, but not in the way you're thinking. It's an SS. All SSs have the 20" wheels and spoiler LTs gain through the RS package.
