GMs cars have far and away been the least reliable cars I have owned. Also, you guys with the misinformed parents, inform them that the 500 is selling well and I haven't heard of any quality issues as of yet (given it is pretty new to our shores, but of course, has been out in Europe for a couple years now). Of course I guess these are the same people that think a car has to do good in the US to be successful, when they couldn't be further from the truth, especially with a global car like the 500.......
I was unaware that being on pace to sell 20,000 units a year in the US is 'selling well'.

Ah, gotcha, but is really what I would expect for that car. It is limited production, with a limited dealer network (had only 30 when the started selling and only 130 by the end of summer), and really limitede appeal.

Saw my first Fiat 500 in person yesterday at Exxon. It was red. It's a head turner because when you see it you're like "wtf is that"?!

Think I'd still take a Sonic over it

All I'm saying is that the 500 is a very pointless car considering it's ass ugly, tiny, gets mildly better gas milelage than an entry level car, and are way overpriced. It's dumb that people are actually buying them.

Um, overpriced? they start at 15,500, which is competitive to cars like the hyundai Accent Hatch, Sonic hatch, and the Fiesta hatch, and way cheaper than it's most direct competitor, the Mini. Also, the MPG with the Manual is 38 highway, auto is 27/34, but that is still an average of 30MPG or better.

27/34 auto mpg isn't good for it's size, and I'm guessing the majority sold are autos.

they were only expecting to sell 10,000 a year

Well My opinion of the Fiat 500... Depending on how you look at it it is cute in a bug like way, but I wouldn't own one. I put it in the same catagory as the Smart car instead of those others. Just to many better choices for the sacrifices you would make owning one.

It looks like a cheap knockoff of the mini cooper to me
