Camaro SS 2010 on dyno makes 364 whp & 371 rwtq !! Vid inside

Who knows how the hell they got a car to dyno but it pulled 364hp and 371 lb/ft of torque at the wheels.

Thoughts?

Hi every one

Livernois Motorsports made a dyno for the camaro .

I hope that will make you feel better after the crappy numbers

Here's the video

Maybe it's auto trans , not bad at all .

Well now the question needs to be asked. was that the L99 or the LS3?

Anybody know if that was the manual or automatic? If that was the manual, I'm actually a little disappointed. Was expecting closer to 380 for the stick.

didnt really seem like it wanted to go somewhere like i see on most dyno test....kinda seemed like he was real gentle on it...unless it was automatic...usually during shift changes the car jerks a lil like it wants to take off

Damn!! i was just about to post this! Anyway that is right were rwhp should be estimating a 15-17% drivetrain loss

Sounded like a stick, and thats right in line with a 15% drivetrain loss. Looks like the LS3 isnt underrated like the LS1 was. Let the modding begin!

364 is actually two more hp than projected by the supposed percentage lost by a manual (from what others were saying). I'm just happy it's still 120 more hp than my current car. =)

Edit: Beat me to it, Chocolate...

interesting... lower than I was expecting, but it really doesn't matter. we all know what the LS3 can do with a few mods based on the vette.

Much worse than I was expecting, considering the stock LS3 corvette dynos around 380-390 whp, albeit on other dynos. On the other hand, Livernois got 350 rwhp from a G8GXP, so maybe the difference lay in the Vette's exhaust? I'm sure we'll be able to make the difference up in short order.

Your right the exhaust looks and sound restrictive and when you listen to the video you can hardly hear the engine suck in air therefore restrictive, just like the good ol days of 99 -02.

You guys are killing me. Just because the Camaro received a LS3, the same engine nomenclature that went into the Corvette, it does not mean it will duplicate it's power output. There are too many variables. Exhaust efficiency, factory tune, cam profiles, etc. could be, and probably are, diffrent between the Corvette LS3 and the Camaro LS3. Also, atmospheric factors play a big role as well as mileage on the engine at the time it was dynoed.

Those numbers are great, even if they are less than what others have gotten with the same engine in a Corvette. Geez, just be happy you have a Camaro available to buy at all.

The C6 doesn't have that much different it pulls 370 whp
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...torsports.html , but on the street it will take the camaro easily . (over 120 mph)

Thanks garagelogic. I totally agree.
Now add those same variables into the Camaro and it would be a better comparison but we will all have to wait for mod reports all in due time....

Hmmmm what type of dyno .. that is definately low if it is a manual tranny ... it should be around 12 % loss ... so that would only be about 415hp at the crank .. also ... that TQ curve is a bit weak .. I was hoping for a bit more low end than that ... oh well .. that is where the blower will pick up the lack of low end ..
