how long will she last?

hey guys i am building kinda bassackwards from what many do, so i wanted input as to opinions on how long before i have to rework the rear or other parts. any input, even flaming, is appreciated.

So far we've got a Kenne Bell 2.8, ARH long tubes. John at APF is forging/stroking engine at present, installing twin fuel pumps, new clutch, blower cam, may go with smaller pulley to increase boost to about 10 psi. i know it is not if but when the half shafts go. If I go with new high hp axles, anybody got an opinion or thought on the other driveline components? Or, am I living on borrowed time? Thanks

oh yeah, LS3

You lucky guy, sounds like some great mods. Now for being a smarta$$, drive it easy or leave it parked and could last a lifetime.

yeah, might have a problem with either scenario. I might ought to start an over/under pool on mileage until disintegration to help pay for repairs

Hey honey... Sorry had to say it, I recommend trailing arms and toe rods. In addition, I recommend some better diff bushings. All of these are geared to keeping the rear in alignment. If you are going that far, while the rear cradle is out, solid sub frame bushings will do wonders...

You're ahead of me forging the engine. Good on you. Mine busted before I got to it now waiting for new LSX 427. But, with the mods I had (similar to yours), I would always do some power adders, and some suspension upgrades at the same time. it kept the wheels to the ground this way.
With your setup I'd say you're probably going to get some wheel hop, so I agree with SSE 4 2SS, I'd also do sway bars and end-links to help with over / understeer and cornering. After you stroke and forge the engine vehicle is going to make some radically sick TQ / HP numbers so eventually (especially if you plan to drive it hard), you'll need to do axles, and if you get drag radials you may have to do the driveshaft.

How's Brandy? Bet you get sick on that oil rig w/o her And, Calbert, the fear of what happened to you is what prompted me to go ahead and forge. I think you guys are on the right track. So, you think suspension before axles?

Brandi is fine, it's me thats all messed up... but I'll heal... just takes time and the efforts of a good ortho surgeon...

I would do the suspension items and see how it goes... They go a long way to preventing wheel hop which is the biggest axle killer... Depending on the timing of when I do my nine inch kit, I may have some 1400 HP rated axles for sale at the same price I was offered trade in for them to the DSS...
