For those of you going to Minneapolis...

........to the Auto Show.........

I walked in Friday nite -- expecting to see an LS and an SS........

DOH!

TWO LS models! One Silver, the other Victory Red.............

Got on the phone immediately and was able to get an SS here yesterday (Saturday) albeit after the show opened -- so it was placed on the floor after show close last evening --

Red 1SS -- so there are THREE Camaros to look at -- touch -- feel -- climb in and out of.

The Wheels on the LS are very polarizing -- I've had people send me notes asking if they could buy a set for 'winter use' (the answer is 'yes' for V6 -- and 'no' for V8 as they won't clear the brembos.....)

Important to keep in mind that the LS should be considered 'base' -- a canvas, if you will, to some.........

Are you referring to the steelies or the retro Z28 style Alums? I am guessing the steel wheels cause of the clearance.

You guys did perfect by having those wheels they are great. And there are so many aftermarket wheels out there. It let's you get the LS out cheap as possible.

As I was saying the ride quality should be more comfortable with the steelies. More bounce for that inner city traffic warefare of the daily grind.

I was wondering why there were two LS's sitting there. Thought there would be a little variation at least.

I might just have to go back and check out the SS! Thanks Scott!

It was interesting listening to the comments of folks around the Camaros...clearly most folks are not as 'in the know' as our miserable lot. I didn't hear one comment regarding the wheels. Personally, I think it sends a message loud and clear: If the car looks this good in it's absolute base form...just imagine what is possible!

And Scott...it was a pleasure meeting you yesterday and truly a short block of time that will be burned into my memory. Your the epitome of a gentleman and your graciousness knows no bounds. My only hope is that I will find the opportunity to repay your kindness.

I was tempted to go to see Camaro for very first time, but the older I get, the less I like crowds.....So will hold out for hopefully just a few more weeks til the local dealer gets one in that I can test drive.

On the discussion of steel wheels, it is interesting to note (if I remember correctly) that the LS base model weighs 40-50 lbs more than 1LT.....It has to be the steel wheels that make it heavier. The base wheels still look great (same basic style I had on 78' Type LT Camaro), but I hope to get RS option with 20" aluminums....Just hoping the ride quality won't suffer going that route.
