Heading into the City? Beware of Flying CD's.

How good must an album be that you'd want to share it with the entire world? How good must the artist play or sing or hum or compose or even rap -I guess- that you absolutely need to get that particular album into the hands of another man so as to enlighten their life just as yours has been. Maybe If I actually had a chance to grab the CD that was being hurled at my Camaro on the interstate by an overtaking car going upwards of seventy-miles an hour, maybe I too would've understood the WHY.

No damage; the good news. The driver of the beat up late model Nissan sedan was also thoroughly embarrassed as I stood on my horn behind her for about a mile or so. Pulling up next to her, she bowed her head with that, so very sorry, look. The passenger though was not as abashed. Seeing as the CD was flung from his window. He mouthed some words that matched an obscenity. My passenger and good friend, a retired Air Force Security Forces Officer, rolled down his window and, in a very animated fashion, signaled his utter disgust at the act. He looked over and asked me what I wanted to do. I told him, no damage done, and no one was hurt...yet. We won, and I wanted to get into the city for a bite. I was starving. I pulled ahead and got into the slow lane. She fell back well below the speed limit and was gone from my rear view mirror.

Really, that must've been one good CD.

*On a good note. After I dropped my friend off, I headed to a local gas station for some much needed petrol. The car at the pump in front of mine was occupied by a young hip couple. Very proletariat, green, driving an Insight with a crayola flag sticker on the rear window. I guess they love to color. Anyway, the driver got out and went into the mart to pay for gas. The young lady came out and looked a little younger than I. Me being twenty-three. She asked me how I got this car. I told her, get a job, make money, don't spend too much of that on alcohol. She laughed. I laughed. We spoke for a bit. I finished filling my tank. As my receipt printed she grabbed it. Asked me for a pen, to which I surrendered one from my glove compartment, wrote something on the receipt, and handed both the items back to me. She went back into her car and so did I. A little while later her boyfriend returned with some Slim Jim Jerky sticks and snack cakes. I opened up the receipt. It was a phone number.

So many low, low, trashy people in today's society that it makes me sick...I'm glad you were able to handle the situation calmly and forget about it since no harm was done...I would have followed that car to it's destination and rammed a CD up that guy's ass hole

Who even HAS cd's anymore?? I would've thrown it out the window too, if I found it in my car.

Thanks!
If there was damage, I'd have been right there with you! Fortunately it bounced hapless near the top of my windshield. A smaller pebble would've dealt more damage. My buddy on the other hand was about to go switches hot! Thankfully, all we lost today was our tempers. Though only slightly

I used to carry around a case full of my favorite tunes in high school, it encompassed the first third of my binder. That wasn't even that long ago! Sadly, cd's are going the ways of books :( A bit off topic, but I'd never own a kindle. NEVER!

Exactly what I was thinking.

So thank you, sir, for not being an illiterate story writer. I much appreciate good grammar, with everything spelled correctly, even! Congrats on the digits! You should text her later

Born on a Naval base in the Pacific, raised in a small Ag town of Central California. I like to use petrol instead of gas. Gas applies to a multitude of different products. Petrol is most likely to describe a fuel or a jelly. I don't put jelly into my Camaro

That honestly never occurred to me. I always thought that the hipster crowd were supportive of anything and everything against the status quo, that they adorned their cars out with decals and bumper stickers to support those facts. Might have over thought this. Either way, I still got a number. Whether it was hers' or not, guess I'll just have to call

That would be cheating If I could help you with peer editing revisions or anything like that, I'd be more than happy to oblige

Good on you man! A bad situation followed a great one and as many have said, you write like a pro.

Off topic but is the silver Camaro in your sig your actual car? That thing is beautiful!

Love me some Top Gear... But man does Jeremy Clarkson hate on American cars... and Americans in general... :P All in good fun, I'm sure, but it does get a bit old sometimes...
