We actually broke the story on this car back in May:

http://www.lsxtv.com/news/would-you-...aro-cost-100k/

Whether you love it or hate it, it got them a ton of attention...

The proper name is Rat-rod. As in poor broke ass man's hot rod. Being in the hot rod scene my whole life Rat-rodding has never been deemed as cool or a hot must have trend, just something that certain types of people go crazy about, while most think it's just a hunk of junk. There's also a difference between "rat-rodding" a 2010 Camaro compared to a 1970 Camaro, or a 1936 Ford Pickup. When you take a look at the former beauty of that wannabe Rat-rod you get a better idea why it's such a horrible thing to do to a 5th Gen. Rat-rodding is rat-rodding, no fancy names about it at all.

My mind can't comprehend the stupidity of rusting and beating up a new car. How about buying a wrecked or salvaged one? Except to the owner...how much is that car worth now? YUCK!!!

I just don't understand the mentality behind this rat-rod trend. While we try so hard to keep our new cars looking clean and rust free, this guy made an effort to turn it into a rust bucket...To me it's like buying a brand new Armani suit and rip some holes on it just to be different...

I would call this one a sleeper. See the supercharger under the hood. I like the concept. I bet he doesn't worry about taking it to Walmart. But yet it would out run a lot very nice looking Camaros.

Im not sure I would do that to my own car but I love the concept. Who'd think that would kick your butt when you pull off a light? And I give the guy credit for actually having the balls to go ahead and do it.

I actually like it. I wouldn't do it to my car but I like the originality and work that went into it. It's not easy to accelerate paint life like that....and make it look legit.
It's more interesting than an expensive paint job.
