Lingenfelter Clutch return spring

My clutch is starting to sink down to the floor and is starting to act spongy, again. This will be the third time I have replaced the clutch under warranty.

After pumping the clutch and engaging it a few times, I can usually get it to work normally after a few minutes or so. Otherwise, the clutch seems to work fine.

I've been looking into Lingenfelters clutch return spring:

I know some folks are separating reservoirs, keeping their fluid fresh, and changing to DOT 4 fluid, but has anyone had any success with the spring by itself?

Cheers,

Heelhook

I never had a clutch problem, and installed the return spring as some extra insurance.
It was super easy to install, and still no clutch issues.

Any mods? The spring is really a bandaid and if you've been through 3 stock clutches, I'd consider looking at a real clutch. Give me a call if you have any questions, thanks.

Only mods are CAI from CA Inductions and Flowmaster AMT cat back. I drive my car with a spirited foot every now and then but by no means would I call myself a "hard" driver.

Cheers,

Sounds like there is a leak in the system.

I have the LPE clutch return spring.. It worked wonders on my clutch (dual disc Zr-1) that I thought I was going to have to replace in April after the pedal came up only halfway and I smoked the clutch really bad.

I am still on the same clutch, havn't changed the fluid since, and I race the car hard every chance I get. I have yet to smoke my clutch again, have the pedal stick on the floor, or halfway down, or have any issue since the return spring was added.

As far as I am concerned, it "fixed" whatever I have wrong with my Camaro's clutch system.
Well worth the price of $90.00, compared to possibly smoking additional $1800.00 clutch setups...

It would be, at the very least, cheap insurance for a clutch pedal that stuck to the floor. If it stayed on the floor during a race, you are done for the day - never mind the run.
