Good news about Trifecta's invisibility to GM

So as some of you know my transmission was acting a little weird which was in due to a slightly low transmission fluid level and extremely hot weather thinning out the trans fluid. But before we came to this conclusion I took the mechanic with me for a ride to try and replicate the problems I was having.

Before I dropped the car off I flashed the stock tunes back on the car. While we were in the car the mechanic was asking me what I had done to the car (of course I left out the part that I've had it tuned). So he said "Well I hooked up your car to the computer and checked over everything, and everything looks fine, and I can't see anything abnormal." I asked him if he check through the whole computer to see if the engine or trans was different than expected and he said nope everything looks stock.

So, good news is he checked my ECU specifically looking for something that doesn't look like stock numbers and didn't see it.

Lol, well I don't think it really matters at this point, plus a mod needs to change it, I can't.

I know it sounds good but what the dealer looks at for diagnoses purposes is not what GM looks at for waranty work. This just shows the techinian was looking at the stock tune you reloaded, not if it was tuned and /or flashed

True, and I took that into consideration before posting. However when the mechanic couldn't find the source of my problem, they originally thought they were going to have to do warranty work on the trans. So he told me that he had looked through to see if the ECU had been altered in the past but said he couldn't find anything, thus not able to figure out why the trans would be crapping out so early. Luckily though the trans fluid was at the lowest "OK" level, and by topping it off to the max it fixed the problem. Which was originally what I thought it was, the trans fluid sloshing under WOT and hard braking.

Trust me, if you blow up any of your drivetrain components...they can and will find out you had a tune.

Not to mention the GM eyes that monitor this forum.

It's been said that on the V6 there is no flash counter.

Because he blew his engine on his SS and dealt with GM's crap. However, like BSR-1 said there's a rumor that GM didn't bother putting a flash counter on the V6's, because who in their right minds would buy a V6 Camaro and mod it, let alone tune it.

However, that's all hear say. To my knowledge no one has blown their LLT engine and tried to repair it under warranty. I'll leave that for people that are putting turbo's or are sprying

Ok.......so it was the V8 and we have heard and read about a million times, there is a counter for their ECM. You have now gotten proof, as well you have heard about this before, so have I, and countless others. Our tuner confirmed our suspicions that there is no counter in the V6 ECM, and at this point if anyone thinks we can't trust Trifecta, they need start working for McCarthy in 1950s.

I have shown my tune to my dealership and they have said they don't give a crap because GM doesn't either. GM knows what they have dealt with through the CTS, so they know what to anticipate. With the V8 engine they have no idea, its a new engine setup.

So his reasoning is based on a V8 scenario, I have hard time trusting it.

You do realize that the LS series of engines has been in service since 1997, with the current LS3 in service since 2008.

I assure you GM does and will care if any of your major drivetrain components fail. Multiple vendors have claimed their tune can't be seen on the V8 either....

Believe what ya will....
