Anyone know what the cost to install these would be? I have a few people in my area with custom audio/body shops who do quality work, but I can not grow the balls to cut my new car.

I noticed that GT 500 they gave away Sunday in the Barrett Jackson fantasy bid contest had a set of these on it.

Curious, I realize they are for the front, but has anyone lined them up over the back gills and seen if they cover them if they were cut out? I think if switched sides and flipped they would align, just not sure how off in size they would be. It worked on the screen lol.. but have not seen these person anywhere yet.

I think someone already makes one for the gill area, is that what you are talking about?

There are scoops that just stick over them, for the grills in front of the rear tires is what I mean, I know people have got them custom done, and bought the entire fenders, but something like this would be nice for the back since its a pretty simple and straight forward DIY
If they are out there, I guess I just never came across them yet.

It would look like this...

The mustang ones and camaro ones are the same. Found that out when I bought mine. Guy had them listed as mustang/camaro vents. They even have the same paint code for black, the gm code translates to to fords.

Actually found out, after installing , that the mustang ones are smaller.... so mine are a bit smaller than the Camaro ones. They still look good though. I will post some pictures later today.

Hopefully I'll get the Camaro ones in the future but for now these will do fine.

Edit: pictures, sorry the car is so dirty the salt tricks around here coat the roads in it.

Not bad, now you have room to reinstall CAMARO on the fender.

Contours of that area would have to be the same so you wouldn't have any gaps or edges sticking up. ACS Composites has a preorder list for rear qtr. vents.

MackMan you did it and did a great job! I like the look and the fact you had the nerve to do it so I give you mad props!
I should have mine this week and 3D Carbon did the paint for me so they'll be ready for install. I need to pick up some Zinc primer for the cut edges, get a grinder and see the Wizard for a heart!

Where did you see that at? I've been on their site and saw no pre-order info nor any info on the rear quarter, only a pic of a car with them but not close to being as nice as the car posted in the previous post.

Can you provide a link or URL

Not to get too far off the DIY topic.

But here is the link to the rear quarters, they are installed the same way the fender vents are installed. Thanks to Lupe for a great DIY thread!!

ACS rear quarter group buy.

On further review... the Mustang ones don't follow the curve of the fender at all... I would have had the person/company you bought them from send you the right set before I cut into my fender. But as long as you like them that's fine.

I personally wouldn't have done it.

But as you said they are smaller, so if in the future you decide to get the Camaro ones you can open the hole up and all will be fine.

Yeah I didn't realize they were different until after I had them installed.. It's all good, it look good to me for now and once I get some extra mod money I'll get the correct ones and maybe I can make these work for the rear or something. Just sell them to someone with a mustang haha. The hole is smaller so I can definitely make it bigger to work with the correct ones, like you said.

Yea I am just not a big fan of the design for the ones ACS has up their, its to bland to me, Needs a split or to be a big wider opening. These ones for the front look way better, just my opinion.

3D Carbon painted mine and they shipped today via FedEx. I should have them by Tuesday. Not sure when I'll get them installed since the weather has jumped cold again and I'm still looking for a heart from the Wizard and some courage too to do the cuts. I'm in no hurry though. I still need to get my LEDs for the install behind the vents, some zinc primer etc..... Hope to have it all done for Opening Day at IMS.

I agree, vent opening should be 1/8-1/4 in wider.

Seems like someone could do it like the 3D Carbon ones, even take it or make it like the gills with an opening that has 3 open ports formed just like the area is so it conforms to it, making the same type of install as the front fender vent.
