I agree with you, someone should make that style. The ones that are currently offered look to much like the mustang ones, and the gills look great in my opinion, I just wish they where actual vents instead of indentions.

Smart minds think alike and again, I say someone could make a solution for the gills just as 3D Carbon did and make a kit that requires cutting into the existing metal and add something like this pic I posted that would look the same but real as they should have been from factory.

Well, my tracking number said my fender vents would be delivered on Tuesday. Now if I were pressed to get them installed, they would have been here on Tuesday or maybe the next day for a weather delay or something but because I'm in no particular hurry to get them installed, guess who rang my doorbell today? That's right, FedEx!

I got my 3D Carbon fender vents and I'm very happy with the packaging, quality and the paint match is on point! RJT is a very hard color to match up as I've found out having other pieces painted. There are 8 different colors of Red Jewel Tintcoat and within that color there are at least 4 shade spectrums for each color so your talking about a minimum of 32 different shades of the same color. Fortunately I have my paint codes on hand for my car so I know the exact color and shade.

Not sure when I'll get them installed but as I said, I awaiting the Wizard to deliver some courage and a heart. IN the meantime, I have them ready to go.

Thanks and these may be the answer for the rear quarter, I don't know but its better than having dimples I suppose.

Yeah, I have seen those and I think they look good! But I also really like the gills, so it is really a matter of which I want more, the gills or the vents

Personally I don't see how these couldn't be made in an open gill type vent, just as these are presented. Instead of one open slot, three of them, one slightly behind the other.

For those who added lights, how many lights did you put inside? I'm planning to order some but hate to get one for each vent and find its not enough. Is one LED per side sufficient?

Thanks!

I have one strip in mine for the blinker. 1 12 inch strip of the 5050 LEDs should be good

Awesome! I'd love to see pictures! To post pictures, at the bottom underneath the text box for a response there are 2 buttons and click on the one that says "go advanced". Then it will bring you to another screen, scroll down, and under additional options there is a button that says "manage attachments". Click on it, and a separate window will pop up, click on "choose file", and then choose your file and press upload. Then the picture is attached and after just post the response like normal.

I put about a 5 LED long strip in the spot. I don't think it lights them up enough. I've been looking at the AAC pods that are suppose to be super bright. Might get some of those and stick them through the hole where I ran the wires. Should light it up really nice, but they're $18 each! I can buy 16ft of LEDs for $20 lol, but I have no choice to take the piece back off again to put the new strip in .. my only dilemma.

Finally got my fenders cut last night, primed with the product I bought to prevent rusting and its all good! My LEDs are hooked up and working via my wireless remote and alll I have to do is play with the for maximun glow affect before I peel and stick them into place. I plan to shoot the inside of the fender jamb with some satin black when I get off. That area is a brown color which I assume is a rust inhibitor from factory and I don't think it'll look good when the lights are on. Once I get these detail things done I'll affix the vents. Need some warmer temps to do so or I'll bring out a heater but I'm in no hurry since the hard stuff is done.
I have to give Kudos to Lupe on this mod as it is killa! Also thanks to MackMan on the info on where it fed his wiring for the lights. Once I used his method I found a space to the outer portion of the hindges where you fingers can feel their way through into the inside fender between the jamb fender, so there are at least two locations including the 1/2" hole in front of each hindge.
Now if someone would create this same kind of vent, made just like the gills where we can do this mod to the rear, it would be even sweater! I saw a car at the Indianapolis World of Wheels that had something similar to what I'd like to have.

They shouldn't be. I had all kind of sparks flying as well. If yours are plastic you may have an issue of melt down

I do think you're mistaken.

any issues with them staying on, tape only worries me as I see track time too at over 130 mph on the straights.

No issues with staying on, in fact I'd like to pull mine off and have them reshot. I think my color is a shade too light.

Don't know if Lupe can chime in or not but I'd like to know if heating them up and some dental floss or fishing line might be the way to go and them apply new new 3M automotive D'S-Tape, press and call it lovely.
