From what i was told by Hypertech, you have to buy the programmer for the ss and then download the v6 program from Hypertechs site for free. It is a setup that they say can tune a v8 or v6, which is pretty cool.

HP tuner=yhea right lol depending who's word you go with.. the guy in US or the guy in aussie?

I think most of us just lost full faith in hp tuners ever supporting bosch e69 platform but I still have a skittle size faith left for them, but once I get hungry I might just swallow it.... oh well

Jut go with vince@trifecta. Even if hypertech does come out soon I highly doubt they will match vince's after support. Plus why wait to get something that's already out hypertech is very late in the game but is cool that they are willing to support our very hard bosch platform where other tuners have given up or sold bunch of BS. So my hats off to them if they do come out.

Even after months of my tune service vince is now basically letting me tune remotely myself without asking for a penny. I tell him what values I want changed or how I want the tune and he go into his program and does it for me. Is like having my own tuning solution but remotely.

Now thats service There are not too many tuners who will let you get personal with their service. Most of them just sell you a tune and thats it until you pay again and they will tune for you the way they want it.

I just got off the phone with hypertech. They are still fine tuning the V6 tuner. They are finishing up the transmission tune apps for the automatics. They say the tune should be ready in about a week. And you will have to buy the V8 tuner, then download the V6 tune for free. There will be no seperate tuner for the v6. I,m looking forward to this for my LS.

Sooo Hypertech is just going to offer one canned tune for all V6 cars? I know it's like half the price of Trifecta but there is no way that a canned tune will be as good...

Their tune is supposed to have different settings for different mods you have on the v6, so that's cool as no other handheld tuner does that.

I contacted hypertech just to see what they was offering and it look like they are about to come out with the result and the programmer any day now.

Also, it look like HP tuners is not too far off either. I been checking their forums and they are planning to get on our bosch after they finish the 2.24 support. I can't wait for that day to come

with all the means of tuning these day... people are still looking for canned tunes through a programmer... won't say its a WASTE of money just that for the money, there are better(safer) options that net MUCH better gains

no two engines will log the same, not even with the same mods or factory stock... therefore a universal canned tune, well, just do the math on how good of a tune it REALLY is... describing them as a conservative tune is an underestimation... i'm not saying they aren't better than stock, but when you drive a car with a legit, custom tune and then drive the same car with a canned tune... well, you'll understand

It depends on who you talk to at HP tuners. They have been saying it was "coming soon" for 2 years now. Others within the company will tell you they aren't doing it at all.

I know what you mean, but this is what their tech engineer chris posted just yesterday:

"We will make these Bosch powered V6 Camaro's work, no doubt. If Bosch had kept to the script we would already support them. The 2012's are coming along nicely also."

"I've already said a few times now that it will happen after 2.24"

I know this will happen for sure but the question is when will they finish up the 2.24? Talk to couple different source and our ecm will get supported one way or the other

We'll see I guess. For now I am pretty happy with my Trifecta tune. HP tuners would have to show some serious gains to get me to pay for another tune.

HP tuner and trifecta are apples and oranges. The gain you get from HP will be completely up to you. If you are the type of person who like to set it and forget it than something like trifecta or hypertech might suit you better, but if you are a hands on person like myself than something like EFI or HP might suit you better

I recently emailed hypertech and this was the response:

We are still in the final testing stages. We hope to have it released in
the next few weeks, but it all depends on how quickly we are able to
compile all of the test results.

Make sure that you have put in a product request on our website. We will
send out notification as soon as it is released. The link to our product
request page is http://209.12.144.7/requests.php.

Thanks.

You can buy software from Trifecta. It's just a bit higher price. HP Tuners really wants to get this stuff done but is severely understaffed. You can log the V6 with HPT if you have the latest beta updates. The Snap on Verus does show more information though and is also a nice tool to have for the V6's. The V6 Camaro's will certainly be interesting when they are released to the mainstream since they will have more tables will make no sense to some. Most tuners hack up the E38's and I feel it will only be worse with the Bosch system.

and what would you do with it,? , the box can only be used 1 time unless the original user returns their vehicle to stock settings

Just a bit more? If I had $2500 to throw on a trifecta self tuning software I would probably do it tho. Im a 100% trifecta supporter as of right now but as soon as HP tuners come out I will be celebrating.
