Anyone else's 2nd gear scratch, alot?

hey guys, even when i push the SS alittle hard and shift out of 1st at around 4,500-5,000; 2nd gear still scratches sometimes. is this like this for all SS's, is it the synchronizer that just takes alittle bit to get the motor and transmission the same speed or what?

Yes, just take her into a dealer and explain what is going on. They should be able to resolve the issue.

hey! new to the site. was this issue resolved, or did you discover any further info? (are there similiar threads, elsewhere?)

'12 Camaro (w/ hurst) - grinds into 2nd. not a scratch or notching... it flat grinds, as though i am not even touching the clutch. anyone else having this problem?

thank you in advance.

Mine grinds into 2nd gear just a little when its cold.
It goes away as the tranny heats up, been this way
from the beginning.
I remember some changing the oil out for a synthetic,
which corrected this situation.

Just some added info for you.

Just remember, for every car that has a problem there are a great many that don't. Mine grinds a little in the 1-2 shift if the transmission is not warmed up. Once it is hot I can't shift hard enough to make it grind. It's a solid transmission used in vettes, vipers, mustangs, and camaros. Not to mention you have a 100k mile powertrain warranty and the option of a quality rebuild if you choose to mod.

You shouldn't let this issue be the dealbreaker. Or, more importantly, if this is the dealbreaker, then you didn't really want the car that bad in the first place.
