Highway racer

This weekend I'm coming home from Wal-Mart and come up on a GT Mustang who wants to race on the highway. What is it with these people? I was tempted but just waved, so he gave me a thumbs up. I felt defeated but it's not worth it. I've had it ling enough now that I'm getting used to that. Still fun though! have I mentioned I love my freaking car!

Not a good idea. You made the right decision in not racing. I got arrested for "racing on highway". I was not even racing but a charger whipped past me and I made a dumb decision of wanting to catch up to him to ask him about his mods. Next thing you know, I got a officer behind me pulling me over. About a minute later I see another officer whip by us to go after the Charger. I had my brother in the car with me who happened to have a warrant that I had no idea he had and the young kid in the Charger had one as well. Sooo, of course I'm going down with them. It sucked but it at least the case was dismissed because there was really no concrete proof that it was a race. I mean Hell, there was too much traffic to be a race. I never got over 47 mph and it was a 50 mph speed limit. So yea, not a good idea.

The best way to prevent that is to have some serious death metal blaring at full volume. Have a very angry and pissed look on your face like you want to kill someone. And nudge over a bit towards them. That will get the wannabe F&F away from you real quick. Works for me even though that's just me driving normally.

I have the same thing happen to me all the time, I love it though when Civics come by and rev it up, I look over and laugh. I was once on a light waiting for green to get onto the highway, and one of the new Mustangs pulls up and revs his engine, I look over and shake my head "nope" well he still wanted to show off, so green light turns on and he does a burn out and speeds away, the second I got onto the highway (5-10 seconds after him) I see him over on the side with a cop behind him, I drove by and laughed hehe.

I get offers frequently but I never take them up on it.
I know what my car can do and I couldnt car less what someone elses car can do no matter what kind it is.
What is the prize?

A speeding ticket?
A wrecked vehicle?
Jail time?
Hurting or killing myself (or an innocent person)
I just dont get it

I kid you not, I keep a cardboard cut out of a lawn mower in the back seat and when a ricer with those obnoxious fartcans pulls up and guns it at a light I pull that cutout out and point at his car then at the cutout and just laugh. gets them angry but worth it to me.

I love it! Can you take a picture of your sign? Are the ricer's smart enough to understand?

I've really not run into any opportunities to race on the road. Maybe because I have only had my car for about 4 months now, but nothing has come up yet. If it did however, I wouldn't race...it's so stupid.

Don't mention that on any forum, email, phone call, or public place.

I might be paranoid but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be.

Oklahoma just had a deal on the news where they are getting very serious on highway racing. It's hard to drive the speed limit in that thing though, before ya know it you're cruising at 78 or 80 in a 70. I have learned to use my cruise control! I hate to take my car to Wally World but it's my DD. I park in the last spot way in the book docks though. I need the exercise anyways.

It seems that I get ricers that want to race quite a lot. Since I usually have my windows down, I'm not bashful about pointing and laughing (quite loudly) so that they usually get PO'd and go racing off.

I've written on the boards about it before, but one time a ricer saw me do this, did a burnout on a right turn and ended up rear-ending the stopped car just around the corner.
