COOL FEATURE FOR CAMARO!!!

its actually better then NAVIGATION!!!

it only cost about 10 bucks a month too!!!!

while in dash navi units are about 1000 - 2000 (rip-off)

the equivalent of 100 months of service for this!!!!!

http://www.onstar.com/us_english/jsp/plans/enav.jsp

ONSTAR eNAV
FREAKING SWEET!!!!

type in your account number for onstar and you can "send" directions to your car with turn by turn navi!!!from MAPQUEST!!!!! freaking SWEEEEET

Sounds cool, but what if you get lost and have no access to the internet? :(

Doesn't happen to me, but just thought I'd ask

Ooo... pretty good idea. I, personally, don't care about a touch screen, blah-blah-blah, but I think this is a great find a great idea. I want to drive Camaro, not play PS3

Also, is OnStar really only $10 a month? Or is that only the price of this particular option? I always thought that OnStar itself was more expensive...

That's cool, although the visual map in my G35 is helpful... By the time my Camaro comes in, I may have a Blackberry or something and use Verizon's navigator. I'm sure that would be enough for me.

Well, then you just push the handy OnStar button on the rearview and tell the friendly service rep where you want to go. Then he/she sends that data directly to your car for turn by turn directions!!

Great feature!!!

I just wish the voice giving directions would sound more like KITT instead of Steven Hawking.... But I'll take it nonetheless!!!!

I've used it, it works well, but unfortunately does not send the route you plan. Only the destination. Hopefully a future version would allow you to send a route when you know your start/end destinations.

You can store up to 5 destinations. If you are going somewhere, load those 5 destinations and if you get lost going to one of them, choose that destination and it will give you directions from where you are at.

Onstar starts at $19.95 a month I think and the nav is an extra $9.95 a month.

Is that just for basic nav? Or does that include the security features as well? Sorry, I guess I could go look it up :( haha... thanks though.

Draco covered it but I'll rephrase things
Onstar Safe & Sound $19/month or $200/year
Directions & Connections $29/month or $300/year
Directions & Connections includes everything in Safe & Sound and adds the nav features.

Sending mapquest routes to Onstar eNav sounded very nice. Onstar completely ignoring the route you planned and looking at only the final destination makes the feature utterly useless though. IF this is simply step one and Onstar is adding actually using mapquest routes that's cool but if it works like that it's just stupid. It's like adding a weight sensor to the passenger seat that can turn off the passenger side airbag when there's not an adult passenger in the seat but having the airbag always enabled regardless of what the sensor says.

I've got ONstar and NAV in my Avalanche...it's nice and helpful. But I've always got my trusty $10.00 US map in the seat pocket.

I've not gone completely digital and never will. (and for you smart-asses, I also have a BB that will navigate for me also if necessary)

Sweet! Although I hope they make it work with Google Maps / Google Earth in the near future. I gave up using Map quest because it was loaded with mistakes (wrong way on roads, etc)

I don't plan any long trips with my Camaro. I have a Garmin Nuvi portable nav system that can play voice directions over the car's sound system when ever I need directions anywhere (and it is already paid for). I can use it in the mini van too if my wife needs to go anywhere.

Why do I need an expensive factory nav system?

-Mark.
