I am not sure but With all the problems getting these I suspect there are more than one set of part numbers used to fill the orders.

Part substitution may be the issue?

Hope someone can help me here or even adm. I been having this problem for months. Just lived with it because didn't have any time to bring it back to the shop to see what was wrong. So finally brought it to get it fixed cause originally thought it was a wiring mix up. So here is the problem. So when the car is filled up with gas it doesn't take long to go down to 3/4 tank, but then it stays at 3/4 tank for a while. I mean more than 100 miles at least. When i start the car up after sitting for a while it shows how much gas is in the car then quickly it rises back up to 3/4 tank. Then it starts going down fast when fuel is getting low. Then right when it passes 1/4 tank it falls flat on its face. The gauge is all the way down like the car is off. And if I try to put a couple gallons in it throws a check engine saying short in fuel sensor. We doubled check all the wirings and everything. We are stalling to drop the tank, but its looking like I got a faulty level sender or ecu or something. Has this happened to anyone else? Please let me know. Prob gotta ask adm to send a new kit and try the install again. Then I could send it back to them so they can see if there was something wrong with the hardware or software.
My 2 brothers and I have the same pump, and we all have the same problem you just described. The install was done, last summer on all 3 cars in San Antonio by the guys at Lethal Performance. Everything works fine, but the fuel gauge. Please let me know if you are able to fix the problem.

Andy, we used HPT for the toning of our 3 cars, what do you recommend we do?

There is a tuner on this forum whose name escapes me. He did some work for a guy that had some weird problem. The guy had him send his HPTuners tune file to him, he converted to EFI Live, made the changes then converted back to HPT and sent him his file back. Presto! No more problems...

Do a search here with the keywords HPT and EFI and you shoukd get it or possibly Ted @ JRE might remember as he was involved somewhat...

Unfortunantly you sent me hp tuners files via email,The changes must be made in our shop with EFI LIVE.

Please send me your ECM'S via ups or Fed ex and I will make the proper changes here in house.

Once again,We cannot make the proper changes with hp tuners.

That's good... 2nd pic looks like where gauge should be reading. Please keep us posted after running down tank some more.

Haven't sent the ecu in yet, but when the gauge bottomed out. I filled like 10 bucks of gas in, and it always gives me this code PO461-Fuel Level Sensor Performance and P069E- Unknown.

Just wanted to let you guys know and if Andy has heard of something like that happening. I will be sending my ECU very soon, just getting some things done right now.

I loaded the new tune from Ted tonight, and my gas gauge went from 1/4 tank to 1/2 tank. Thanks Ted! With gas prices these days, we can use all we can get!!

Just for the record - P069E is a code sent from the FPCM to the ecm to request a MIL light.

YOU HAVE A PROBLEM SOMEWHERE.

Communication codes, U-codes, as well as powertrain codes, P-codes, set in the fuel pump control module will cause the fuel pump control module to request DTC P069E to be set in the ECM.
Note: Correct any other engine controls and communication DTCs before diagnosing fuel pump control module DTCs.

•DTC P069E is an informational DTC. If there are no engine controls or communication DTCs, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle for diagnosis of fuel pump control module DTCs. Do not replace the ECM for this DTC.
•Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Please take pictures up close of your install when you get this thing apart for repair....Something is not right !

Damn! In the past i only got the fuel level code, but this is the first time seeing the P069E code. Well i am gonna send the ECU soon to you guys, just really busy with the car at the moment. If that doesnt work then going to bring my car back to the shop, to start the process of finding whats wrong.

Also is there a possibility that resetting the FPCM will throw the P069E code? Cause maybe the shop reset it hopping that the fuel gauge thing would work and recalibrate it self.
