Brakes Squealing!!

I have a 2SS camaro has about 4k miles on it and the brakes are squealing not grinding and it does it after the brakes are warmed up a bit. Has anyone else had this problem or does it wear off?

yes this is a common problem. Search the issues/problems section.

They not only squeal but they grab like nobody's business. Take some getting used to especially at very low speeds (backing out of the garage, etc.).

Mine also squeal a little after they've been used around town a bit. However, I have something else going on with them I think. They've always been squeal-ish after getting warm since new (and I can deal with that). But now, after they are warmed up, if I am not on the throttle and going along at say 5-10 MPH I get a metal on metal sound from my right front that is based on a certain point of that tire revolution, if that makes sense. Now here is where it gets weird, silent when cold, only does this once warm and if I apply the brakes ever so slightly, it goes away at that 5-10 MPH rolling speed.

Any ideas/ammo to use before I take her in this next week?

I just posted this in another brake squeal thread.

The front Brembo brakes have had several iterations to address squeal. The first was stick on wheel weights. The second was 'roller skate' weights. The weights add mass to the caliper to alter the harmonics of the assembly.

Brake pad squeal is common in high performance brake pads. The more aggressive the pads, the more they squeal. The more aggressive the pads, the better they stop. The more agressive the pads, the more dirt they create. The OE pads on the SS are quite good. In our initial track testing of the SS we were very impressed with how well they performed. Lap after lap they did well. To put this in perspective when we tested a 2011 Mustang with the Brembo upgrade the brakes lasted on 1.5 hot laps on the same track. We cooked the Mustang brakes in 1.5 laps.

Bedding the brakes will help. Before you bed them, make absolutely certain your pads have more than 50% of the original material.

Find an open lightly tafficked section of highway. Get your speed up to 55 MPH. Stand on the brakes until your reach 35 MPH. Repeat from 65 and 75. Drive for five miles or more to allow the brakes to cool. This should reduce the squeal.

The best thing to do is embrace the squeal with the knowledge that your are drive a great performance car with great breaks. Great brakes make noise.

Do the OE Brembo Brakes squeal. Yes they do.
Are they defective. Not in my opinion. They are very good brakes for a performance car
.

Sounds like the Brakes are Glazed. Are the Rotors(discs) smooth like Glass. If so,
Just Clean use a good silicon on the touch points and Lightly Scuff the Braking Surface areas.
Done this on the Camaro’s and the Silverados Etc.
