The A/C, heat, and heated seats will come on at the temp and blower settings you preset. Other non essential accessories will not operate untill you have the key in acc mode.

AC/heat turns on when the car starts. However the electronics (radio, interior lights) won't be on till you flip the key to run. The headlights will come on though.

What he says. And other than that it won't hurt your starter any more using the remote than if you get in and use the key.

The ONLY problem I have ever had with my factory GM remote on my 07 G5 was I once had a sensor problem (Unrelated to remote start) that made my engine light come on. The remote start didn't work when the engine light was on.
The mechanic told me (and it sounds pretty logical) that the remote start won't work when you have an engine light in case something catastrophic is wrong with your engine, so that you have to try and manually start it and can hear/see/smell that something is wrong with your baby.

if anything, it will be slightly easier on your starter as the computer is controlling it so you eliminate the possibility to over/under spin the starter when turning the car on

FWIW, I've been using a cheap DIY remote starter for 10 years, it's never caused a problem. I've lately decided that it's better to start with the remote every time. It's important to let the engine idle for 10-30 seconds before driving off, to make sure oil is completely circulating. By remote starting as I walk up, I can get in and drive off just as fast as I can close the door and click my seatbelt.

Yeah this is what I like to do mainly, I know letting it run for the 10 minutes it allows you to is not the best idea (and since you can just turn it off I don't see why they didn't lower it to like 5 min if you run into someone and start talking on the way to the car, but whatever lol).

Also there's a lock out on the shifter (OK, drive selector lever since this is only for the automatics) that prevents you from putting it in gear and driving it away. That and the steering wheel lock keeps your baby safe when warming up (or cooling down) unattended. I use the remote start on my Avy every time I start it. If it's cold it turns on the seat warmers, the heated mirrors, rear defrost and cranks the front defrost. If it's hot it cranks the A/C. Very cool feature. Now my wife's Torrent has the remote start option but it doesn't have automated climate control. So the HVAC system simply does whatever the last setting was. Still good - just need to remember to crank the defrost the night before.

Hey I just realized - I never checked if the 2SS Camaro has the same automatic climate control system.

All Camaros will have a basic, single zone manually controlled HVAC system. There is no option for an automatic or dual zone climate control.
