SSD

I was thinking of getting a SSD hard drive. I was wondering what you guys have, what brand is a good one, and how big should I get. I want it to run just the OS. I have Windows 7, 64 bit, 8 gigs of RAM and 3 video cards running triple SLI. Processor is a dual core 3.0 ghz intel. And I have a 1 terabyte hd for my secondary.

I've always gone Corsair. Size is dependent on whatever you want. I usually only have my OS on them too, but I like to have a bit of extra space for updates and whatnot. 160gb is enough for me.

As you can see, Corsair is the way to go if you want the best SSD. Simple as that.

What is an SSD? I know 'bout STD's, my filthy mother-in-law has always got one or another of 'em to complain about, the old slut...

SSD is a Solid State Drive, with no moving parts. The SATA and older IDE hard drives have a spinning disk inside, this takes time to access the data. With a SSD, it can access the data very very quickly. And your computer will start up and restart much faster. My friend has one and his computer is up and going in 24 seconds.

I have a cheap one (64 GB PNY) running Win 7 64 bit. From pressing the power button to ready to work my computer is up in 30 seconds.

Worth every penny.

I had to go up and hit the "full sized" button when I saw this, wow! How many megapixels is that camera, Steve?
