IROCanSS baby shower

BABY SHOWER
Our Camaro community will be having an informal baby shower for IROCanSS (formerly jrhaus76) & wife (she was approximately 17 weeks as of 8/30/11). The baby shower will be at the dinner after the fall cruise. Currently the plan is for this to be a surprise for IROCanSS's wife but IROCanSS will know about it. They are registered at Walmart and Babies"R"Us.

You might "shower" them with a baby gift (possibly Camaro themed) and/or participate in the baby pool.

Baby's sex will be a surprise. Nursery will have a yellow and green Beatrix Potter Petter Rabbit theme.

Date/Time - Saturday, October 22; estimated 3:30 to 4:00 pm

Restaurant - Der Dutchman, 445 S Jefferson St, Plain City, OH

BABY POOL

Categories
1. Birth day & time (time must be a whole hour)(example - 1/31/2011 @ 7:00 PM)
2. Gender, weight & length (weight must be in whole ounces; length must be in whole inches)(example - Male, 8 lb 2 ounce, 20 inches)

Bets
· $5 – Bet amount for one set of guesses per category
· 10/08/2011 – Date to start taking bets
· 01/02/2012 – Date to end taking bets
· 01/31/2012 – Date by which bet amount should be sent to heinzd01 in person or via PayPal
· heinzd01 will not be betting

Awards
· 50% of all collected bets for all categories will go to IROCanSS & wife
· 50% of all collected bets for birth day/time category will go to person with guess closest to actual birth day & time
· 50% of all collected bets for gender/weight/length category will go to person with guess closest to actual gender, weight & length
· Date to give awards will be determined later (after the delivery)

Other
· To participate, post in this thread, send me a private message or let me know at any Camaro event what categories you will be playing in and your guesses.
· Feel free to add other guesses such as baby name, eye color, hair color, labor hours, mom's favorite food cravings, etc. and I'll track them; however, they won't be used to determine the winners for the two main categories.

I like the idea of a Friday evening shower. I will try to think of a place that has a private room or area we can use.

A private room would be great. Unfortunately, I don't know the area.

Friday evenings may not work for those who don't live close.

Subscribed! I'm not familiar with the area either, so I can't be of much help there.

In some ways it might be better - one slightly bigger event might be easier to organize than two events and more people could probably attend.

I think one large event would be easier for all. Have the route end or have a stop where we eat and bestow them with a bunch of stuff to haul home. Note to Jason, don't pack the trunk full.

I called Der Dutchman and got "call ahead seating" for 30 people on Sat, Oct 22 @ 4:00 under the name Heinz. If the actual headcount is different, we can call Saturday morning and change it.

I did NOT reserve one of their banquet rooms since at a cost of $349 I guessed most people would prefer not to spend extra money for a separate room.

If you are participating in the baby pool, check on the first post and be thinking of your guesses.

LOL... we refer to it as a bump all the time... too funny.

We just got done registering last night at WalMart. Not nearly as fun as Baby's-R-Us but still exciting! The not knowing sex part is tough... We registered for boy and girl socks because... well they're socks... didn't want people to think we knew so we just did both! LOL

I walked through the baby dept at Walmart the other week and was lost. I don't know crap about baby stuff.

I found you in the registries at Walmart and Babies"R"Us so that helps.

I already made a purchase and the color may not go with the "green and yellow" nursery theme. Oh well.
