Best year for the camaro

Hello all, I was looking to buy an older camaro pretty much just the body. hmm I was wondering which year would be the best to rebuild and everything.

how old do you want? how much do you want to spend? how much do you want to do vs paying someone else to do?

I've always love the 70 and 70 1/2 camaros.

In my opinion '70 was the best year.

If you are really serious about getting a project car I might be able to get you a '75. Body is still in good shape, small rust spots in some places but needs alot of work. Doesn't run.

Yeah, umm. How much your willing to spend is kinda important. Some camaros are more expensive to fix up than others.

hmmm i really dont think money is too much of an option ill most likely just spend more time rebuilding if it costs more to do so. But i was more or less looking for availibility of parts for the car so basically opinion wise what would be the best year for that?
Thanks for the replies

Well then. don't try Mid 70's parts are a B**** to find. If you want availability of parts. You can do any 1st gen.
You can practicallly build a whole cars from the amount of parts out there.
Late or early second gens are good for parts too. '70-'73 or '77-'81.

+1 The only thing I didn't like about them was the dashboard. If you don't protect it from the sun it will roll up on you ............the top of it. Other than that it was my favorite year. I had two of them that year. Always a classy look to it and the 67-68 imo.........I think one of the biggest differences was the placement of the key. In the dash for the 67-68 and on the column for the 69.

I had a 69 Z28 with the DZ 302 guage pack, wood wheel, dual point dist, etc when I was a kid. I use to spin the piss out of that motor, FUN TIME!!

Wish I never sold it, LOL

They say you can never go back... But hey the 2010 reminds me of my 69. You only live once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only first gen that seems to be worth anything is the 69. Breaks my heart cuz I own to 67s. One is an RS/SS 396 four speed, the other is a 67 coupe 327, 275 horse 2 speed with 23,000miles on it. I like the body of the 69 and the interior of the the 67 and 8

The 69 is my favorite also. I love the 69 RS. I had a 69 RSZ28 that was lemans blue with white stripes and a white houndstooth interior. I too am kicking myself for selling it.

The 2010 gets it's look from the '69, that should tell you something!

why do you not include the '67, the main exterior difference from '67-'68 is the '68 lost the vent windows

69, then 68.

The circular turn signals on the 67 do not do it for me. Unless, of course, the 67 is an RS.

'67 or '68, the shape of the quarter panels look great. To me, the '69 doesn't have as much character, but I'm biased, I have a '67.
