Billet Grille Insert...Need HELP!

Ok everyone, I bought a Billet Grille insert. My husband and I attempted to put it on today. The problem is theres about a 1/2 in to 3/4 inch gap between the center post and the grille insert. Should this be flush with my stock grille?? Should the grille insert post line up with my stock grille post?? The company I bought the grille from gave me tie straps to install with(dont know if this is how all grille inserts are installed?)

Would like everyone response and suggestion to see if everyone else had the same thing or if I should contact the company.

attached a pic of the gap between my stock grille and the grill insert.

The gap is fine. I have the T-Rex grille and have the same gap.

Mine had little hook things that latched onto the back of the OEM grille.

There is a gap in between both my upper and lower billet grille. No tie straps though. One used J hooks and u clip nuts and the other just used metal tabs and u clip nuts.
